Morrell Pro 6 string spacing?

I just recently won a Morrell Pro 6 string on eBay. I think I got it for a good price, almost half of what they sell new. I'm in the process of getting a replacement nut built by Dom Franco. However, I'm unsure of the string spacing @ the bridge? Are there any other common mods for the Morrell? This...

I have't been on this site for a few weeks now. If anyone has an offer, please make it. I didn't mean to mislead anyone by saying it was rebuilt by Mike Cass, it was. Unfortunately it has been tinkered with after the fact. I'm so new to the instrument that I would not know the difference. My apologi...

The LKL's are more towards the center. This was requested by the prior owner as well as the vertical knee as the "C" pedal. Mike used all original NOS Emmons parts.

PM me with any offers/questions.

Thanks!

My sincere apologies for it taking so long to take photos. I still think the photos look kinda crappy, but, they're the best I ould do with having never used this camera. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg209/musikman43155/DSCN0463.jpg http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg209/musikman43155/DSCN04...

FS: NEW PHOTOS!! Emmons S10 push/pull

Sadly, I'm going to have to sell my instrument. I'll attempt to take photos and add details when I can borrow a camera. I'm just checking to see what the interest is. This instrument had been built/setup my Mike Cass a few years earlier by the prior owner. It's black and I believe was made in the 70...

I believe you tune the open strings with the bottom row of holes. The raises with the tuning keys and the lowers with the top row of holes. I think that was how it was explained to me.

Where is Bridgeport exactly? I myself just started, and I live in Sugar Grove, close to Lancaster, Columbus, Athens.

I'm using SHowtime 41's which I really like. I have some Dunlop's too, but, I don't like the feel or shape nearly as much.

When I play with my bare fingers, I DO use my index and middle. It's just the angle I get when I use a finger pick on my index. The angle I have to use when using the pick on my index to get the string to ring out as true is unnatural. I would prefer not to use any picks @ all. This is how I played ...

I don't even actually use a pick when I play guitar, so using a flatpick while playing steel wouldn't help. I just could never get use to the feel of a pick when playing rythm guitar.

I ocassionally try to use my pointer finger but I still prefer my middle and ring.

I'll keep tinkering.

I just listened to that song and deep in the mix, I found that pedal steel buried in the far left channel of my cans.

Age of Emmons PP?

I recently bought an Emmons PP S-10 from a member of this forum and I'm curious how old it is. I've only seen a handful similar to mine. I don't see a serial number, just a Pat. Pending# on the end. The seller said he believed it was a late 60's early 70's. It had 5 knees and two pedals, a vertical ...

Pickin' on the Pedal Steel

I recently began teaching myself how to play steel and after much trial and error have decided to use my middle finger and ring finger rather than my pointer and middle. I have carpal tuneel and it numbs my hand to use my pointer. It is MUCH easier using my middle and ring finger. Anyone else do this?

Yeah, mine is a push-pull. S-10, not SD-10. It is very much a tone monster. Even given my amature status, being a guitarist, former french horn player, I know good tone when I hear it. The 1" BJS bar helps, I'm sure.

Winnie Winston Pedal Steel book

I recently purchased an Emmons pedal steel from Weldon, a member of this forum. He very kindly included an older print of Winnie Winston's Pedal Steel book. Assuming the songs or examples are all the same, would someone be able to burn me a copy of their CD? If you don't find this ethical, I would l...

I recently bought the E9 single neck version of this instrument. It has two pedals, 5 kness, one of which being a vertical which acts like the third pedal. It is a push pull and is believed to be made in the late 60's early 70's. It looks exactly like this instrument, E9 only. What is this steel cal...

I used a Holy Grail for playing with my telecaster and it was great, until one day it just died without warning. When I took it apart it smelled a bit "charred" like something had simply burnt up. I had it for about a year or two, I honestly don't remember, however I only used it about one...
