Tom Doughty steel and slide player makes BBC News here.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-17686424 Hope BBC link above works outside the UK. Inspiring. Tom Doughty is now hoping to inspire others to learn to play, as he tours 12 specialist spinal centres in Britain, starting in Southport where he was first treated http://www.tomdoughty.com/...

Great to read these, so much in there. Notice a picture of Basil Henriques from Castaways days, enjoyed listening to the Band's music from those days only recently.

Many Thanks for posting.

Used to fill case with crumpled newsprint, changed twice weekly.

Had the newsprint anyway so cost nothing, certainly made a significant difference after 2 weeks, followed by the open air airing,

Seemed to work, hasn't been a problem since. Like the Febreeze idea, will try that next time.

Link to photo album of Wyzecki S8 and D8 steel guitars built in UK circa 1960. Go top left to select slideshow, then full screen. Pictures are a mixed bag, need daylight to show them better.

At last a thread on these little-known Wyzecki guitars! Have an S8 and a D8 pictures to follow by the weekend, both picked up via Ebay UK over the years, one directly and another indirectly. The S8 has a single one-off style pickup wrapped in a blue tape IIRC, the D8 has more conventional looking si...
