tunning

sorry for not making myself clearer on this. What I'm looking for is 440 tuning settings for each string. Such as E @ 440... G @ 442... etc. I've seen different variations for each string including E & B at 442 instead of 440. Hope this helps... I appreciate any suggestions.

tuning

This may sound elementary, but I've tried different chromatic tuning for my D10 - BMI 8 pedal, 7 lever and just can't find a sound that suits me. What do you recommend?

Anyone tried a "stacked" system for the steel?

HERE'S MY QUESTION.... has anyone tried a stacked system with pre-amp/e.q., power amp, speaker system for the steel? Similar to what a lot of bass players are going with. If so, can you give me an idea of what I need to put one together? I posted earlier about a pot problem with my Peavey Vegas 400....

vegas 400 midrange stacked pots?

Does anyone know where I can find a midrange stacked pot for a Peavey Vegas 400? Peavey says they no longer make it for these "older" peavey amps. Or does anyone know if I can simply bypass the pot. It's throwing a "fit" with my amp... tried cleaning it to no avail.

Peavey Delta Blues Amp... issues!

I recently purchased a new Peavey Delta Blues amp for my BMI D10. Nice amp BUT... even with overdrive disengaged it clips into slight distortion when cranking the volumne pedal and it's hard to bring out the "lows" even with the lows turned up. I thought this would be good "clean"...

I agree... a nice "Goodrich" is tough to beat. Have one going on 30+ years and just one pot replacement. Smooth and sounds great.

Thanks everyone for the great response. Please keep it going. We are a very good band, only 4 months performing, and are giving the established "star" bands in the area a run for their money. We're already steadily booked 2 nights a month at two clubs and that's about all we really want ri...

Band uniforms... anyone still using them?

I was wondering if anyone still wear "uniforms" in their band. Days past everyone was dressed alike or similar to add to the "show". I'm toying with the idea for my band to take it to the next level. Not looking for anything "tacky", but something that'll stand out and ...

Peavey Vegas 400 has been the one I prefer and use. Great too if you double on lead guitar as it has 2 separate channels. Very CLEAN.

Here I am "doubling" on the bass while our bass player takes lead guitar during a R&R song with my band. Our band is very versitle and all of us play (except our drummer) multiple instruments proficiently. It can be done and it's lots of fun if your able to do it. The crowd love's it t...

Dan... "right on"! I absolutely LOVE my BMI. I've had a go at Sho-Buds & Emmons in the past and none have impressed me more than my own BMI. It's a great PSG, stays tuned and plays smoooooth. Thanks for the great feedback from everyone so far. Keep'm coming... BMI players, "stand ...

Any BMI players out there?

Just wondering how many of you play a BMI? I've seen a few ZB owners on the forum and haven't noticed a couple of BMI pickers. I have a great vintage BMI D10 with 7 knee levers... serial #229. I can't seem to find out when it was made. I've had no luck getting a response from BMI yet. Anyone have an...

"There are lots of people who play bass, not very many bass players though." Lee You've said it all Leland. I started playing bass at age 9. It may be easier to learn at first, but it takes years to become a "bass player"... that goes for any instrument, especially the PSG. It ma...

Need some suggestions regarding my VP (the pix I submitted on the thread). Any suggestions on a good setting for the tone knob? Don't wear yourself out on the problem. You can't go wrong if you just go ahead the replace the pot with one from Tom Bradshaw. He's great to deal with and was my VP savior just a couple of months ago. THANKS TOM!

Okay, please don't laugh... well at least not too much. I've been all other my steel trying to figure out how the steel accents on some of Hank Thompson's hits go... such as Humpty Dumpty Heart, Wild Side of Life. Here's the don't laugh part...
