to the top. Anyone got something older with long scale 24.5 or longer (pedal steel) non fender they might want to part with? My adventures in D9 continue. Id love to obtain another older Miller Custom but am open possibly to other brands. 8 or 10 string.

Early Miller custom

I love my 65 Miller custom and kinda want to add another. I’m only interested in early ones without roller nuts and with the longer scale. Let me know what ya got! If you have any other type of long scale 24.5 or longer pull release (non home built) I might be interested as I am experimenting with D...

I appreciate the input on this. Lefty had some good demo material that survived through the years to be released by the Bear Family.

Lefty Frizzell Demo question

On the big Bear Family box set they did on Lefty Frizzell there is a demo called "Believe me, its true" Its pretty rough in quality but its obviously a nice sounding song from what I can hear of it so my question is did Lefty ever record it for release or did any other artists, I ask mainl...

Not to take away from the thread but if anyone gets this tuning on a 25.5 inch scale Excel Id like to hear your thoughts. I'm basically sold on Excel because of the short wait time but would probably go long scale. Greg, I enjoyed hearing the full song you posted. I imagine it takes a minute to get ...

If Williams would build a 12 keyless universal with a little bit longer scale than 24 1/4 Id have one ordered today. Its hard to find builders that will do the longer scale.

Don’t remember where but I recently saw a custom GFI U12 with the 22.5 inch scale. It may have been on reverb for sale but anyway I was curious how the short scale would sound with those big low strings in the universal tuning.

This is vague but I’m just trying to figure it out. All good guesses are welcome! Early 70s black male singer. In the intro he kinda sings along with the guitar intro. The song also has quite a few catchy high notes. Not at all a country song. I do know the singer is no longer living and I seem to r...

Measure from the nut to the bridge (top of the changer fingers) if it’s 23 inches or 23.5 most likely gonna be a Miller. It does look like a later one. Non Miller pedals though.

Bill, thanks for the info. I've never heard a total of his appearances that may have been all of them. I'm trying to track down some of the more obscure films that some of the country singers had a part in. Right now my ultimate hunt is from 1983, a film called ESP with Ray Pillow and Nat Stuckey ab...

Waylon Jennings band question?

In early Waylon recordings (Early as in Live at JD's) there is some very clear high harmony by I believe Gerald Gropp. Someone correct me if that was Paul Foster. Anyway after roughly the mid 60's I know Gerald Gropp stayed around but apparently Paul Foster did not. does anyone know if Waylon made a...

If you don’t mind doing some work the CB Gitty kit is actually kinda cool. It’s designed for a 23 inch scale. The rogue is not bad but it’s a really short scale. George boards sells a scale upgrade kit which allows you to make your rogue a more standard 22.5. If you ever decide to drop a couple hund...
