WOW!! :whoa: You got that whole guitar changed over and working in one day. I'm impressed.

Haha! To be honest, I only completely set up the E-neck! I still have to replace the rods in the C. But yes, I am THAT good!

Fixed!

THANK YOU Crowbear and Richard (and Bob Brewer who helped us out on the phone!) You two were correct. Not something mechanical and certainly not strings, nor human error! :D It was good 'ol cabinet drop. Unbelievably, in the two years Joey has played the Fender 1000, we never experienced these other...

Thanks James! I didn't know there was a way to download the videos and convert to mp3. That is exactly what I have been wanting to do. I will have to experiment with it. Mike, the youtube clip of Sarah doing Together Again is just beautiful. I think you're right; she hasn't recorded it on an album, ...

Sarah Jory recordings?

Hey there everyone!

I want to have an audio CD of Sarah's "Together Again" I was thinking that I should be able to find an mp3 download somewhere but I can't seem to find it. Any suggestions? She seems like a very difficult musician to find recordings for...

Intonation?

Hello everyone! Here's my issue for the week! GFI Ultra D-10 8 pedals, 5 knees. We switched the E-neck over from the outside to the inside (personal preference) I think we did it correctly. I researched it and made sure I paid attention to slack and everything. Now, the problem seems to be intonatio...

Mooney?

Okay... Have made the change... Still a little bit of tweaking to do and he has a new steel!... I was aware of all of all of the professional players who have gone to GFI. That is one of the reasons we chose that brand. We like Mooney in particular. Does anyone know the E9 copedent he is using now?

Thanks Tracy! That is exactly what Joey was waiting to hear! If you have any more time to give your input, especially owning both the instruments we have... What do you think of the GFI? Joey was so comfy with the 1000 but felt the need to improve and expand his playing, so we got the GFI... So far ...

GFI Ultra- Switching the neck?

Okay Folks... It's been awhile since we've been on here, but we have a technical question and we know where to ask it! Right here! Joey had the Fender 1000. He had the E9 set up on the neck next to his body- He was VERY comfortable! Never played the C6... Now he has purchased a nice GFI Ultra D-10, ...

Interesting point Thom. Thanks for bringing that up! He plays on the neck closest to him, so is not used to playing where there would be a pad, but he was thinking it might be more comfortable, BUT yes he still wants to be able to double on his six string! Still thinking on that point I guess! He di...

Sorry guys to seem so ignorant, but what does TTT mean? also, have been seeing "bump"? We have been looking at some of the stuff for sale, but are unsure of what these two phrases mean and don't want to step on toes if it means stuff is already sold or spoken for etc... ?: Thanks Joey and ...

You guys have all been so helpful! Steel guitar players are definitely among the most friendly people we have met! Thank you so much. We have even been able to meet some local steelers. So far, we are leaning toward the Peavey Nashville 1000 (though I know you all say the 112 is enough- Joey still h...

What do you guys think about the Peavey Nashville 1000? I know its larger, but it looks like there's a used one out there for less than the 500 or the 112.
Dave, definitely going to check out the GFI!

Thanks Larry! I think that is what he needs. He hasn't used the C6 for anything... He has even played some of that Patsy Cline stuff on the E9. Do you think he will ever need to go to the C6? or do you think that you can get a fairly decent feel to those songs with E9 if that is what you like?

Thanks, Bent and Mark, for the quick responses! Okay Bent, first things first (sorry for the dumb question) what is an SD 10? Other than that, it sounds like you guys agree on the amp issue. Peavey seems too good to be true! Is that the best or is there actually something better for more money? Bent...

what to buy?

Hey there guys! We are looking to buy a steel guitar to "grow in to." Currently, my hubby (Joey) is playing on a 1957 Fender 1000.(double 8) He bought it for kicks and taught himself to play. (He's a very seasoned six string player.) He's getting good at some Mooney style licks and has bee...

Wow! Thanks for the quick responses... Benton, I will get some pics of the crossover on here tomorrow sometime. I will take all the help I can get with this thing right now... Ronnie and Joe, I don't think it's the strings, as I buy them in bulk and I use the same ones on the 1000 which NEVER breaks...
