Tabledit is the only one I know which can deal with copedants and can play back the correct note. Guitar Pro can be set up for 10 strings and let you notate A and B etc for the pedals and levers but doesn't alter anything regarding the pitch of the note. It does present nicer on paper or pdf than Ta...

Hmm
I was specifically thinking of songs in major keys, and maybe it's just the songs the guys I meet up with introduce me to where there seems to be 2 major and 3 major chords being used, Borrowed Angel, Tennessee Waltz come to mind.

Why does classic country rarely use minor chords ?

but frequently uses secondary dominants

I'm not much of a classic country type but it's fairly hard to avoid learning pedal steel. I'm just wondering if there is a reason for it.

Shout Out to Jeff Rady

As someone that came across pedal steel via Matthew Sweet, Steve Earle and 90's Alt Country. It's fair to say that classic country isn't really my thing. Jeff has filled the gap in the tution market with songs by some of my favourite bands Whiskeytown, Richard Buckner and steel players like Greg Lei...

I tried a friends Goodrich Omni the other day, I'm sold on it, best of both worlds active (with no attenuated treble) and passive, and can be battery powered so no extra power cable needed if that's an issue.

I've listened to Ross share the journey of the Sierras, and I'm going to watch the videos.

I'm only a beginner but the way he speaks about them makes me want one.
If I start saving now, by the time I can play well enough to deserve on I might have the money together!

It would only take someone to make digital copies and some cloud space for them to sell MP4 versions of these. It's 2021 after all, I don't have a DVD player anymore I took one out of my PC a couple of years ago for more hard drive space.

Thanks for all the suggestions and advice I have ordered a drum throne. I also had a thought this morning 'What if I sit a little closer to the steel'? This has helped no end, the seat height went down to make my thighs parallel and I can reach the knee levers and almost the hit the vertical lever w...

I'm currently using an adjustable office chair at the highest it goes, as you can see my thighs are far from parallel to the floor. The vertical is on the left, the photo makes it look different. The Fessenden has extendable legs but they are at the shortest it goes to, the bottom of the skirt is ju...

I need to get the legs shortened don't I?

https://i.imgur.com/0JBcTRc.jpg I'm a newbie and I'm struggling to get comfortable, with my chair at it's highest I'm only just getting my knees to the levers, forget about the vertical one! I'm 5'7 I didn't think that was too short to make a big difference, maybe I'm wrong. The steels legs are at ...

Volume pedal for modeller

I use the Fractal Audio Ax8 for guitar and now pedal steel. I have a Moog expression pedal linked to a volume block to use as a volume pedal. Will there be any benefit spending money on a Goodrich or Hilton volume pedal vs my current solution? If anyone else is using the same set up how have you set...

We're so lucky to have him here in Ireland I bought my 1st pedal steel (Fessenden SD10 4x5) from him a few months ago and he handwrote the basics of set up and the 1,4,5 chords for me, and gave me the contact details of 3 players in my area that were friends of his. I was hoping there might be a Black Friday sale but no luck!
