I received my Time Jumpers DVD and it's clear as a bell. Love it.

In fact, I'm going to order 4 more to give as Birthday presents. I'd bet they'll replace it for you with no hassles.

8 Space Rack

I'm looking for a good quality 8 space rack with openings at the front and back and the covers. Would prefer either Road Ready or Anvil brands.

Would consider an SKB rack with the extending handle and roller wheels.

Welcome to the world of the steel guitar, Frankie. I'm a newbie, too. I've only been playing for 5 weeks, but absolutely am having the time of my life. Congratulations on your steel purchase, too. Sounds like a nice one. I've found that here on the forum, there's no question that won't get you a hun...

Danny. I have some close friends that live in Atascadero, just up the road from SLO. I'm sure you're looking forward to living in that area, as I always found it to be really pretty, and a great location near the Pacific coast. Good luck in the winery management business. I'll do what I can to help ...

Oh, how I'd love to be able to play steel in a band. How does one not have a feeling of inadequacy when playing with great players, and you, yourself, feel very limited in talent? I taught myself how to play the accoustic 6 string guitar. I often think of how much better I would be at it if I had ta...

Steel Guitar Lesson #5

I spent Saturday afternoon with Steve Lamb in Fort Worth, again... I gotta tell you, that guy has miles of patience. So far, we've gone over Faded Love, Cryin' My Heart Out Over You, and Heartache by the Numbers. Steve is throwing in one new curve-ball each week. First, it was the AB pedals together...

I watched in complete amazement as two guys in an Austin, TX mall played the heck out of them. One by itself is phenomenal, but two, in the hands of very talented, practiced musicians is a beautiful work of art. I will get me one of those things one of these days. Just not today. :( Never thought I'...

That's interesting, Mickey. Steve just taught me how to play 'Together Again' yesterday at my steel guitar lesson. Lesson number 4, and we've played Faded Love, Cryin' My Heart Out Over You, Together Again, and now we're working on Heartache by the Numbers. My problem is that I want to play the lead...

Come on down, Joe.

Joe, you'll love flying around here. If you'll be down here flying a TBM 700, I think I know the outfit you'll be flying with, and one of the Dallas pilots is a great friend of mine. He's flown the PC-12 and the TBM. I fly out of Arlington and am just now learning how to play the steel, though I've ...

Open Invite

Thanks, Mickey. I work at the Arlington airport, just down the road a piece from Grand Prairie. I'd love to play the Mullen, and the Emmons, too. I'm a rank beginner playing a Pedalmaster SD-10 3/5 and am loving every minute of it. I'd really love to hear the differences in the electronics setup. Pl...

Pedalmaster

Pedalmaster gets my vote. I'm a newbie, taking my third lesson this Saturday in Ft. Worth. My Pedalmaster is very easy to setup, stays in tune, sounds great, and looks super. It's been sold at least once here on the forum before I bought it. It's natural blonde laquered maple, and pretty. Three peda...

Good to go now. Thanks for the bars.

I'm just getting into playing the steel guitar, and the guy who sold me his steel also gave me a 7/8 bar. I'd like to try everything I can, and decide for myself what feels right and not. I played with a 1 inch bar one time, and it actually felt better than playing with the 7/8. I'm looking for basi...

Bill, I'm still in my infancy when it comes to playing the steel. The things you mentioned have been considerations throughout the process of deciding to pony up the money and get started. I've spend a large amount of time listening to recordings of some excellent steel players and was thinking what...

Practicing enough!

Whilst I was practicing over and over to the backing track of Faded Love, I got ahold of the 3,4,5 group, bar at the 10th fret...and just as I mashed the a and b pedals....TWANG!!!!!!!! There went the third string. I've only had this thing three days, and already tearing things up. Guess I'll follow...

I'm a helicopter/airplane mechanic, too...and I definitely didn't want to go there. Might change my mind about owning a steel guitar. At least there's no "Federal Steel Guitar Administration" to mandate an annual inspection! And, there's no manufacturer's liability insurance in case ...

That's funny, Jim. I'm a helicopter pilot, but the steel guitar is intimidating as all get out.

If you invent one of those shirts, I'll order two larges from you should you chose to sell any extras. That sounds like a real hoot.

I can see the resemblance now that you mention it. :D

I appreciate all of the great ideas and advice so freely shared here. The D-12 was appealing because of 1, the price, and 2, it was local and wouldn't have to be shipped. I found an excellent steel guitar instructor in Ft. Worth at Lamb's Music. Steve Lamb and I spent an hour together today with my new-to-me Pedalmaster SD-10.
