Which Pick up would you use

If you can get an original BL705 with the chrome surround you won't get a better pick up although I believe they are quite hard to source these days. Wallace Tru tone are also a great pick up.

Roland 80 XL

I think I am the odd one out here, the cube doesn't work for me at all, the line out has such a weak signal that it just doesn't work going into and through the pa.Putting a mic on it just don't work either just not a balance with the rest of the set up. So it's just sitting in a corner gathering du...

Emmons or Day

I would say nearly all the (elder statesmen players)in the UK use the Day set up this is mainly due to the fact that when the first pedal steels came into the UK mainly ZB's they were set up by Gordon Huntley and as he played the Day set up thats the way he set them up to demo to prospective byers. ...

Tuning

Hi Jack,
Just tried the 442.5 tuning on the Williams and that works out fine as well, got a bit of cabinet drop on the E's with 440 across the board, but with 442.5 it holds up much better so may well stick with that.

Aaron Watson

Have just been listening to some great steel work on some Aaron Watson songs, who records with him ? I believe he's a Texas artist. So maybe not a Nashville session man.But whoever it is he's good.

Tuning

Have been reading the posts on tuning with great interest.I have to say that I have three guitars and have always tuned them via the Jeff Newman chart, however my Williams D10 has never to my ear sounded totally in tune so I thought I would tune evrything to 440 now this goes against all my previous...

Dan Dugmore

Dan Dugmore is playing some great stuff on the new Alan Jackson album 30 Miles West.A lot of simple single note work but very Tasteful.Would be good if one of you guys tabbed out a few, the solo on Talk is Cheap would be a good starter.

705

Have just put one in my Bennett SD10,sounds so rich, compared with the Tru-Tone that was in it. The TT just didn't suit the guitar. This 705 is a chrome one been laying about in a box brand new never used but at least five years old. Very impressed with the tone.
