Thanks for all the help. I owned the Broz-o-phonic for a number of years and liked the feel, weight, etc, but sold it along with all of Bob's instructional dvds, books, and compact discs after the "news" a few years back.

Bar length/diameter for 6 string

I'm sure this has been asked before: there are various bullet bars available online in different lengths and diameters. I recently purchased a 30's Supro 6 string lap steel and have no idea which bar would work best. I found some quality bars on the "links" on the upper right of the this p...

"Fly me to the Moon" C6 tab.....where did it go?

It's been about seven years or more since visiting the forum and I can't find the tab, in C6 tuning, for "Fly me to the Moon". No luck searching on the web, either. From what I recall, there are a LOT of kind and helpful folks here on the Steel Guitar Forum. Why am I back after such a long...

FS: Reso-Acoustic 400 $1400/1300

Bought it a few years ago but it's been sitting in my closet for over a year, figure I should sell it to somebody who can use it. Took it out to a coffee house twice and to my buddies garage for a jam session a couple times. Looks nearly brand new. I'd love a local sale in the Chicago area but can h...

FS: EG Smith standard bar; Broz-o-Phonic bar

EG Smith standard bar $50 Broz-o-Phonic bar $15 Both for $60 (the EG would cost you 70 bucks alone!) Price included shipping to continental USA. Paypal ok as long as we split the fees. Both are in amazing condition, no dings, never dropped. I've sold my lap guitars to fund my new business specializi...

*SOLD* FS: Larrivee SD-50 flat-top

FS: Perfect condition Larrivee SD-50 12-fret slothead. No dings, no scratches, no visible fret wear. I recently fell in love with the sound of a baritone guitar (which I can put into open E and F for Hawaiian music). I’ve had the SD-50 in slack key for quite some time and don’t need two flat-tops fo...

I'm not sure what you mean by "no student / beginner models" while asking at the same time for advice on Hawaiian sound. Denny, Thanks for the info! You sure have some nice one's available on your webpage. By student/beginner models, I refer to some contemporary, low-price, import models ...

National squareneck tricone

I'm also considering, in addition to an electric lap steel, a National squareneck tricone. Anybody know of one for sale?

Great sounding, quality 6-string

I'm looking for a nice 6-string electric lap steel to play mostly Hawaiian music in lowbass G and C6 tuning. After spending a few months looking here and at other forums "for sale" sections, I've determined that there are far too many to choose from since I don't a darned thing about elect...

Thanks for all the feedback. Now I'm more confused than ever! If I can find a great sounding 6-string for less money that would be even better. I've done some research moments ago on the bakelite models and I'm a bit nervous about them since reading how a couple folks had them break in half. I...

I was looking at some shops as well the "for sale" section and was thinking this might be a good one? A Rickenbacker Electro T-Logo 1946 model, pristine condition and easily within my budget: http://www.steelguitar.net/np4.html I really don't know much about electric steels, so any thought...

So many guitars, how can I choose?

I've been looking in the "for sale" section for a few months and am rather intimidated by the vast number of makers and models. The more I look up info on all these different models the more difficultly I face in choosing which would be best for my needs. I don't want a low-end instrument ...

FS: John Pearse reso strings + spare .062

Now that I've sold my squareneck (and waiting on a custom flat-top and a custom lazy river weissenborn) I don't need this set of brand new, still in the package, John Pearse strings. I'll also throw in a new John Pearse .062 (I always used a .062 the 6th string for open D tuning). If you play in ope...

FS: Phil Leadbetter dobro (bought from Phil)

Well, it's time to sell my spider bridge all-maple Phil Leadbetter dobro. No dings or issues, just a couple very light scratches to the finish (can't see them unless you hold it at an angle to the light, might buff right out, I'll polish it up and see). I bought this new from Phil who gave it a test...
