Moby Grape, one of my top five bands. Got to see the original lineup once and other incarnations about three times. My friends formed a Moby Grape tribute band in the 70's called the Grapenut Flakes. The bass player was at SF airport and ran into Jerry Miller and told him about the band and asked if...

Bobby just subbed for me on the 8th in the Rhythm Riders and the leaders of the band were worried that he wouldn't do the parts like I did them. I said are you kidding me it's Bobby Black!!! He will do way cooler stuff than me. Definitely one of my heros

Chris was definitely the man around this area. Got to hang with him a couple of times. Loved the pedal steel and had a great snarky sense of humor. Will miss him on the forum. Rest in peace Chris

Hey Mark, I was at that show too. Thought they were great in every way. From musicianship to engaging the audience. That was my first time at the new Freight and Salvage. Great place, not a bad seat in the house.

Some people are asking why Jim would question JB's playing. I am glad he did because there has been a great response with great stories and samples of his playing.

The one neck that is a darker shade was made in a different month than the other 2 necks. $1200 plus shipping. The pictures speak for themselves. You can tell it has been around. Any questions ask here ...

Billy Bremner is a great example of a great player being a team player. On all the Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds albums billy was playing the cool parts and guitar hooks of the songs and some of the solos. Some great live videos of those days on you tube.

Thanks Jay. That was a fun show. I agree with you about JR's rhythm section. They were great. Drummer has been with him for 4 years and the bass player for about 8 years. Took JR. awhile to get dialed in. Venues are suppling the back line for him and he didn't do sound check. But once he settled in ...

I just saw the New Riders last month in Auburn at the Auburn Event center. Great place to see bands. Has the vibe of a smaller ballroom. The band that opened had Pete Grant on steel. He sang a great version of Stella Blue by the Dead and did a great solo in that song. Sounded great all set. Then the...
