Tommy thx for your reply! I totally agree that Mullen has always made, and still makes one, if not the highest quality steels made today! I was just wandering if one is use to playing the same instrument for several years, If it would take a while to get over losing an old friend as each instrument ...

Early 1990s Mullen d-10
How many are still playing early 1990s Mullen guitars? And how many traded for newer models, but wish they had their 1990s Mullen back? I'm sure the newer ones play better, but how does the tone compare? (I have a 1992 Mullen.) Thx for your input!

Thanks guys for the response. The Lakeland show sounds like a possibility since we will be visiting friends in the Zepher Hills area which is real close to where we would be staying.

To curl or not to curl; That is the question.
How many of you curl your little finger under on your picking hand as opposed to anchoring, extending, etc.? I have been trying to change from anchoring over first string and curling it under my picking hand.

Pac a seat legs
Billy
I found a replacement set for my seat from GFI. My seat was an older GFI with screw in type legs. I E-mailed GFI and asked if I could get replacement fold-up type legs for my seat. They were back to me in couple days. Just go to their web site and E-mail them. Good Luck!

Help! Steel recording session.
What is the best set-up for recording steel? The last session we recorded, I had my amp miked but tried to listen to the mix through headphones while playing. Do most go back an add steel on separate track?

Thanks guys for all the response! Several of these songs bring back memories of bands I have heard or played with over the years. One song we used many years ago was Remington Ride when I was attempting to play lead guitar. Of course, our steel player, Chuck Lemasters was just learning steel, and wo...

Don,
I use an Evans RE-200. Light weight 26lbs; 10 inch speaker; plenty of power and sounds great with my Mullen D-10 or my Telecaster.

Changed channels as soon as they panned to the steel and couldn't hear it. Really tick's me off! WSM needs to hire the sound man from RFD-TV where the steel always sounds great.

Thanks for posting pictures. Did you have the flight case custom built to your dimensions, or is it an off-shelf item?

Bill, Thanks for your contribution to steel guitar! I check "Steel On The Web" each time I log onto the forum. This is a great way to honor some of the great steelers that have passed on and give the newer guys a chance to see some of these greats. Some that come to mind; Speedy West, Jimm...
