Hi Chuck. I just sent a PM. I'm interested in the 12 string.
Thanks
James

Austin Tripp in Tuscaloosa, AL
Just wanted to give shout out to Mr. Austin Tripp. The show at the Druid City Music Hall in Tuscaloosa, AL was awesome. I've been trying to decide if I want to go ahead and take the plunge and get a U12 keyless, but Saturday night made up my mind. I got to come back by the bus with Ward and Cody, bu...

Session 400 Limited Refresh/Upgrade
I have a Session 400 Limited, S/N 9A-03857728. Does anyone know of or recommend any maintenance or upgrades? I've had this amp for about 12 years and played/gigged with it almost every weekend. I've seen a lot of stuff on the web concerning the older Session 400, but i haven't seen a lot on the Limi...

Oh how I wish I could afford some of these wonderful machines. I get excited over handtools at Sears, much less CNC equip. Like I stated earlier, I have some of the parts to start making a homemade 2 axis computer controlled mill, just haven't gotten around to trying to put it together. Farris, than...

Farris, your right about engineers. My dad quit school in the 9th grade, became a pipefitter, and after 40+ years of experience, he had the engineers coming to him to ask questions. Daddy always told me to listen to the guys that work on the stuff everyday, because their experience aint in no book. ...

Chas, it's funny you say that. I do have an engineering degree (Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama). Unfortunately, I wasn't really smart enough to understand all that stuff, they just got tired of seeing me in the same classes term after term, so I guess they felt sorry for me an...

Well, it looks like we have enough James' to go around. Thanks for the encouraging words James. I have a cousin who has been in the custom cabinet business for about 20 years. He called me on my way home from work today and wanted me to stop by. When I got there, he had a truckload of fresh, quarter...

Farris, I know what you're saying. I spend lots of time tinkering with things that I know would be better spent practicing. But, I just can't help myself. And you're right about the cost. I'm sure I'll have one of a kind $10,000 guitar that I couldn't sell for $10, but at least it'll be mine. Hey, a...

Machine Shops
Been tinkering around the old workshop for a while. I've been drawing, erasing, re-drawing parts diagrams for a home-built steel for about 2 years now. I've finally got enough free time to actually pursue this adventure, and was wondering if there are any machine shops that would be interested in do...

G#->E vs. B->Bb
I have my '81 Sierra S10 3+5 down for much overdue cleaning and repair. I am about to start putting her back together and was contemplating utilizing the Franklin LKV from G# to E. Previously it was setup to lower the B's to Bb. I would like some input on utilization of the current setup versus the ...

Thanks to all of you who have given suggestions about equipment. This past weekend a friend invited me to a meeting with a record producer in Nashville and we were able to tour the studio. Afterward, we met with the studio and road guitarist for Clay Walker. After asking a lot of questions, I came t...

Thanks for the info so far. You guys have it pretty much right. I am looking for something fairly simple, maybe 6 or 8 tracks, and I would like to do all editing on the pc and then just burn a copy to cd. David, I was thinking about just using a mixer like you suggested, but I think I'd rather spend...

Recording Equipment
Anyone have suggestions for reasonably priced recording equipment. Myself and a few others would like to casually record some things, but don't want to invest a great deal of money in it. I would prefer something that I could connect to my PC for editing and mastering. Any info is appreciated. James

To reiterate an earlier post, WOW!! I thought I was the only guy crazy enough to practice steel and morse code at the same time. I don't have any HF gear at the present, but hopefully the new year will be kind enough to allow me to purchase a few items. Wouldn't it be something if we were all able t...

Well, I guess I lied. After gathering information needed for restoration, I finally got around to pulling out the chassis on the amp. Inside, under some dust, I found a date stamp that read JUN 02 1971. So I guess this thread should read 1971 FENDER TWIN REVERB. Anyway, thanks to all who have given ...
