Dan - you might consider using Confor foam. I used 1" of green firm topped with 1" of blue medium and it came out perfect for me. If it was good enough for our Apollo astronauts it should be good enough for me.

My above referenced link takes you to the Amazon page of this item. The photo there makes the knob appear to be of aluminum and is not actually the knob advertised. The photo I attach here is the actual knob (stainless steel) that I received. They look sharp on my old Bud. Apologies for the poor nig...

I bought a pair of these stainless knobs (10-32 thread) on Amazon. The knurled knob is one inch diameter and easy to grab and spin. The large size makes them hard to fall through floor cracks unless you really play in some dives. They are light weight and work good for me. Pricey! https://www.amazon....

Fantastic song and video. I absolutely love it and thank you John Macy for posting.I bought a couple of CD's for myself and my brother. I am particularly interested by those intermediate E string roller nuts for strings 4 and 8. I've never seen or heard of anything like that before. Something simila...

Goodrich L-120 Volume Pedal SOLD

I bought this in 2006 in a package deal with a new pedal steel guitar. It has spent its entire life in a box in storage and has never been operated. Never used. Like new condition. Nice red color. $175 with free shipping to any CONUS address. Or, buy new on Amazon for $254, but you can't buy a never...

GFI Steel Guitar Seat SOLD

$150 with free shipping to CONUS addresses. This is a never used steel seat offered for sale, so it has lots of life left in the cushioning. I bought this in 2006 and it has spent its entire life in a box in storage. Nice seat, approximately 21 1/2 to 22 inches high from floor to top of cushioned se...

A very interesting thread for me. I'm restoring an early 70's Sho-Bud Professional, and here are my observations so far. I had to remove the glued on fret boards to access the six each per neck wooden neck attachment screws. The screws go in from the top side. The front neck E9 screws were in immacu...

I'm reading this thread with interest because I, too, have a vested interest in this unfolding tale. See my post under the pedal steel section, last updated 29 May 2017. I've actually no idea if this affects 2, or 20, or 200 people, that are wondering where there guitars are located. There was a flu...

Here's a cheap tip. Place a 10 cent piece (dime) into each rubber tip. This will keep the metal leg from cutting into the rubber tips. The rubber tips will last almost forever. Later, after the bass player has left with the hot chick from the audience, and the drummer is making countless trips to hi...

Tony, My D10 Professional eight pedals are stamp numbered (L to R - from playing position) 7/3/4/4/3/1/4/1. The 5th pedal (stamped #3) is of shorter axle length, to compensate for the center mounting bracket. The 2nd pedal is also stamped #3 and is full axle length. That's two pedals of different ax...

James Morehead Sho-Bud's

James Morehead, the late, great Sho-Bud restoration expert had some number of guitars in his shop, in varying degrees of completion, when he most unfortunately passed away last year. I still have a Sho-Bud there myself. Have any of the rest of you SGF members been successful in retrieving your guita...
