Dissassembly Method?

From idle curiosity and an abundance of spare time I have read most of the threads about Sperzel tuner sludge. Most people who have tried to do so say they can’t be disassembled. I googled for a long time today and found a possible disassembly method that I haven’t seen described in any of the threa...

Thank you Jack Hanson

It seems it was to make the steel sound like fiddles.

But what about the bars wrapped with what looks like black electricians tape. What is that?

What is this stuff on Buddy Emmons' changer?

This picture is for the cover of Mr. Fishell's forthcoming book. I asked about the apparatus in his thread about the cover picture, but I got no conclusive response. I am still curious about it. Can anyone say what it is? https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/5625_434_COVER_Buddy_Emmons_Steel_...

I asked the Hawaii State Archives

In case there is still interest in this, the page at the link in Kirk's opening post has an email contact link. So I emailed the archives department to ask about this. I got a very prompt and full response from Adam Jansen, PhD, State Archivist. From his response I conclude that getting this materia...

What I did.

Just for closure, I did as Rich Gibson suggested. I found an old "Behringer V-Amp 2" that I had forgotten about and hooked it up like he said. It works fine for what I was trying to do.

Thanks to all for helping.

Thanks to all.

Thanks to all. This information is very helpful, especially the specifics on equipment and cables. Just to see whether I understand, does this sound correct for the mixer method? The signal paths are: -Guitar to mixer, -Mp3 to mixer via headphone jack on computer and splitter cable, -mixer to headph...

Thank you!

Thank you, Bill Moore. That is a great idea. I sincerely appreciate your help. Do you (or anyone) know a specific USB mixer that would be good for this? Maybe someone who has done it before?

Are there any other ways to do this?

All their songs seem to be here.

From Bob Carlucchi's link I navigated to this. It looks like their entire catalog. I had forgotten how much I like them.

Here is a link to the movie scene. The scene and song have been cut to one verse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjR7_U2u3sM Here's a recording with no movie action. Two verses. It says it is from the movie soundtrack. But from back then, watching it in the dark, it seemed much longer; but my sense...

Me too.

I have been looking for that for a long time. That was a very moving scene in the movie (in the theater at least). I have found the movie on TV but they cut the scene very severely. I hope someone finds it.

The old boy?

What about the old boy in his workshop? Does anyone have any clues about who he might be? He looks happy at his work on a violin top or back.

Knutsen Harp Guitar

I found this picture of a Knutsen Guitar at this link.http://www.harpguitars.net/knutsen/hhw7.htm.
I can see similarities. It looks like it would take four hands to play it.

Thank you, Kirk. I had noticed the elongated bridge, especially on the bass side but I had no explanation in mind. What you say makes sense. Thanks again for your insights.
