Chris, If you dig the 6th string lower by is't self you should try adding the raise on the 9th string with it.(6 down to F# 9 up to E) Then you can do some real neet stuff going from the 1 chord to the 5 and back. It's buy far my favorite lever( I also raise 1 a half step with it) Have fun!!! James

I used to practice with my eyes cloesed all the time. Now on the gig I almost never look at my frets. I think it does a great deal of good to take your eyes "out of loop" so to speak. I also think it helps with more than just pitch. If you don't have the eyes fixed on the guitar, you can s...

Why Pedal steel? Because it’s the pinnacle of harmonic achievement. I mean after all, what else can make all those cool noises? I don’t know anything about the Tuba…..But I do know that I get enormous gratification when I pick up an instrument. It never seems to mater what type it is. I would bet th...

Gary, I use a Boss Blues Driver II for my overdrive. Since I have to play Rock & Roll about 40% of the night, It’s a big part of my rig. I prefer overdrive to fuzz, but the biggest thing is how you hook it up. I always put my stomp box first thing off the guitar before of the volume pedal. In th...

Mike, I love my Nashville 112. All except for two things. (1 The post on all the pots are made of soft and very breakable stock. The least little bump snaps ‘em right off. I’ve lost two and bent another to much to leave the knob on. I would have gladly spent a little more money for my amp, not to ha...

Ernest, The less pressure the better. As long as you don’t pick to hard the weight of the bar will be enough to create a clean ,pure note. This is of course if you don’t have any roller nut trouble. Pressing down hard will pull the strings sharp and it also kills the sustain. I once saw a video by a...

I have a FISHMAN in my Dobro. It sounds OK but it feeds-back if you get to close to a speaker or you try to play very loud.

I had mine installed buy a banjo maker here in Nashville, but I'm sure you can find a web-site to get one from. I'll surf around and see if I can come up with a link.
