I have a FISHMAN in my Dobro. It sounds OK but it feeds-back if you get to close to a speaker or you try to play very loud.
I had mine installed buy a banjo maker here in Nashville, but I'm sure you can find a web-site to get one from. I'll surf around and see if I can come up with a link. |

I keep hearing good things about the Scheerhorn-modified Schertler Basik pickup. But beware; nothing can replace a good condensor mic.
I use a Fishman active pickup through a Baggs Para-D.I. with the treble end turned down to zero and the mids almost at zero (it's a very high-endy pickup).

In the future I will remove the Fishman from my guitar and have a Schertler Basik installed.
Brad Harper, pro player and builder of fine resonator guitars, is a big fan of the Schertler. After installing the Schertler on one of his guitars he said "it makes the Fishman sound like an AM radio."
I can get my Fishman to sound decent-but I have to humbly disagree with Andy-I have yet to hear either a Fishman or a McIntyre that sounds great.

I put a McIntyre feather in my Tut Taylor dobro and it was terrible. I tried just about everthing with the McIntyre feather, amps with anti feed back control, several different pre-amps, repositioning the feather on the cone and covering the feather with masking tape. I finally just gave up and sold the instrument."Schatten Design" offers a dobro pickup, I've had great luck with there products and they have a 100% money back offer if your less then happy with there product.
