Referencing Youtube videos on the Forum

I'm curious to know if any Universal players are able to play some slants I've seen performed by an S-10 player on Youtube.
I'm not sure whether narrower U-12 string spacing can accommodate this.
Is it OK on the Forum to reference a Youtube video so others can see what I'm talking about ?

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I think I'll bite the bullet and order up a Williams Keyless Uni. Considering I use pedals 7 & 8 once every 6 months this shouldn't be a big deal. :D

Pedal Placements on a Keyless U-12

I recently read a comment herein about a Universal player who would not consider a Keyless PSG because the Pedals were all shifted too far right. Does he make a good point? On my current Carter U-12, the leftmost pedal ( 0 Pedal - Franklin ) is a full 5 inches to the left of the nut. Also noted: The...

Jim, The problem I had was that the LKL kept bending towards me. To resolve this completely to my satisfaction, I used a standard solid body aluminum turnbuckle which I could easily screw both ends to the body through the eyehooks on each end. The body length and thickness of the turnbuckle were per...

AH HA! Sounds like "balanced" is the operative word. A friend recently told me her 6-string lapsteel G6 tuning, but was unclear on gauges. So this is to ensure some strings don't "feel" to floppy or tight compared to their neighbors when tuned to the correct pitch... right ? If s...

If I'm building an instrument from scratch and need to determine string tension so the whole thing won't collapse, I can see how this would be handy.

Aside from that... what's the point of this calculator from the standpoint of a "normal" steeler on a day-to-day basis ?

Fooled Again,

The dobro on "Forever and Ever Amen" was in fact a PedalBro.

I was quite happy to hear that after I'd been beating my head against a wall for 3 days trying to figure out the parts on my standard resophonic guitar... to no avail obviously.

I connect the BoBro (as instructed) when not using an effects loop; PSG --> BoBro --> Volume Pedal --> Amp. My ears cannot hear any tone difference with the BoBro "off" Vs. not in this configuration at all. The effects loop may be preferred by some, but that requires 2 cables, a 100% wet s...

Yo A.J. Funny how many replies one gets without an actual answer to the original question. Not that everyone isn't trying to help mind you. Regardless, the answer you seek, I believe, is "NO". I play Universal, which typically requires a tad more pedal pressure, which a slightly higher sea...

Sonny, I know what Jeff (RIP) meant about LKR getting in the way of the C6 pedals. However, I couldn't live without the split tuning on string 6 which, in my case, LKR + P2 gives me. e.g. G# to G for a Minor Chord from the primary/no-pedals position. Therefore I'm ... String 6 Split with LKR E Raise...

Mr. Little, Re the "Big Case"... 3 summers back, much to the chagrin of the ushers, I hung around at the end Jimmy Buffett's show here in Toronto hoping to catch a word with Doyle Grisham, assuming he might come back to break down his steel himself. Instead, a couple roadies just packed th...

Mr. Palenscar I've got one too... love it, and it makes me look way cooler. But according to Peterson, the only true bypass item they manufacture is the Strobostomp. So I do as they recommend; Connect the Stroboflip to the 2nd output of my volume pedal. Suites me fine 'cause that's one less thing to...

Thanx all for the replies. Let me clarify. If you can hear tremolo throughout a recording (like the Bo Diddly stuff), then you've misunderstood the question/topic. If it weren't for PF's unaccompanied ending on "Drive", I never would have noticed this subtle tremolo. Cliff, Yup, I certainl...

Who Uses Subtle Tremolo ?

I don't mean the "in yer face" stuff, but the fast, subtle, tremolo as per my previous post, "Tremolo Treatise" (which hasn't faired to well in the reply department)

Tremolo Treatise

Dear All, Though I'm just a newbie on PMZ (Pedal Modulated Zither), I have frequently noticed a mystery tonality in the recent productions of PMZ in "New Country" recordings which I can't quite put a finger on, yet a tonality which I'm quite certain is not "in the hands" of the p...
