Hey Ian,

I've got a Louis Jordan double album...I think it's a greatest hits...and it's got a fair amount of steel playing!

Check it out...

Personally, I think Louis Jordan/Prima type stuff is begging for steel.

Well, well, well...I must admit that I've only read about 70% of this string, but it seems to me that nobody has thought to quote Bocephus in the old "Family Tradition" To the best of my recollection: "People ask me Hank, why do you drink? Hank, why do you roll smoke? Why must you liv...

A good luthier will probably fill the crack with glue and file/stain it to match the wood. It shouldn't be a big problem for you.

Also, I'm up in gilpin county...do you play with any local bands?

Doesn't look like a lap to me. I think it's just a nice old archtop with a big neck...sure is purty, though.

Back to Fahey

I was just reading the John Fahey string from May 26th and thought it should be mentioned that Fahey's prose writing is pretty phenomenal and anybody who's interested should check out his novels and short stories. Most of them are out of print, but you can track 'em down on the web. My favorite of h...

Major 7th voicings in C6th tuning?

Anybody want to share their major 7th knowledge?

I'm not having much fun incorporating the voicings I've come up with into my playing.

Any input would help greatly.

Hi guys, I'm gonna get in there and see why there's so much trouble downloading these pics.

I not sure there's enough surface area to add legs to the single neck.
I'll talk to Bob; though, and see what he thinks.

8 String Non-Pedal Steel Guitars at a great pric

I'm helping my good friend Bob Diederichs sell some of his lap steels on line. They feel great and they sound great! They are the best 8 string for the money as far as I'm concerned. The focus is on playability and affordability. I own one myself and it's my only steel. Here are a few pics: They go ...

Plastic?" tone bars

Wondering if anybody knows where to find tone bars that are NOT made of steel.
A friend of mine is looking for them, because he's used them in the past and drills into them in order to make modifications.
Any help would be appreciated.
