So long ole buddy. Back in 1954 I signed on with Hank and his dad. It was my first band gig. I played guitar and did vocals, PJ Babcock did drums, "rocket" Will Mosely did great lead guitar. Hank played a Fender 3 or 4 neck (can't remember which). We did gigs all around Orange and Ulster c...

Merry Christmas

I'd like to wish all my fellow steelers out there a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year. Thank God we can still say Christmas on a website like this, and not wimp out saying Holiday.

Love y'all, Fuzzy

I waited a long time before deciding to give my input on this post. Believe me, I'm not trying to blow my own horn, so to speak; it's just that I would like to share with you how blessed I have been in my musical career. This was in the 60s and much of the 70s. I had the great honor to be playing fo...

Andrew, great idea for us ShoBud steelers. I bought mine in 1978, from a guy that didn't treat it very good. Somehow, he made a noticable dig in the front aluminum corner. There's no way I know of that it could ever be repaired. Other than that, it's a good guitar. Thanks to Bobbe's help, he said it...

Back in 1971, I appeared at the annual convention of Eastern States Country Music Inc. at Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling,WV as a contestant. A young Jerry Brightman was the steel player with the house band. He was excellent then and has been since then. He sure made me sound good. He helped me come ...

Sebring is app. 45 miles south of Winter Haven on Rt. 27. I travel down there every sunday morning as I'm a member of a Baptist church there. It's 47 miles from my home to the church. I'll be looking forward to a jam there, as some others also.

Thanks guys for your input. I've tried the few setups y'all sent, and then went back to around the previous tuning, and mine was closer to what I was trying to find. I think I'm wanting something far more advanced than is possible with the 112 and the ShoBud. My setings were: Pro gain 4, Low +15, Mi...

Bud; prior to the 112, I was using an Ampeg w/15" speaker. I never was satisfied with that sound, although it had a pronounced deep bass. Sometimes that is good and sometimes it's no good at all. That's why I bought the 112. Jack, I hope to see you at the meeting on the 12th. I would rather spea...

I need some opinions

I have a ShoBud Pro2, and play thru a NV112. I have tried many, many settings on the amp, and I really never am completely satisfied with the sound. I'm sure that's a common situation with many of y'all. I really welcome your help. Who knows? Y'all might just have what I want. Thanks guys!

Benjamin Just to fill you in a little more on Cindy Cashdollar. I think if you check with her, you will find that she had her first lessons on dobro and steel guitar from a friend just outside of Woodstock, named Charlie Ferrara. In fact he gave her her first dobro. Check with her and correct me if ...

Thanks to y'all for your input. I thank Malcolm for his imput especially. I believe it's the smartest thing to do (buy the Behringer DR400). So, I just ordered it for $36.40 new.

Thanks guys, I kinda thought it might be wiser to buy a new one. I've been looking at the Behringer
DR400. Know anybody who has one of them? If it's comparable to the Boss,or even real close, I just might get one of them; the price is great.

Thanks again guys! Fuzzy

Boss RV3 needs repair

My RV3 became a problem as the switch stopped working. So, I then ordered a replacement switch from Roland, It worked for a short time and then stopped suddenly. Is it really worth having it repaired, if it is possible, or should I look for another one? Does anyone out there do those repairs? I'm at...

Who was he??????

Watching Hee Haw a few minutes ago, and Roy Clark did his instrumental, accompanied by a steel player. The hands looked familiar, and the fabulous passages sounded familiar. They never showed his face, but stopped just above the chin. To me it appeared to be the Big E. Then I realized he was playing...

Guitar case

I own a 1962 G6119 Gretsch Tennesseean Chet Atkins model, and I'm puting it in a shop for some repairs. So, for a back-up I bought a new Gretsch G5120, but there is no hardshell case with it. I have searched Ebay and other sites and could not find what I need. It fits perfectly in my 1962 case, with...
