I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to play a few shows with Ferlin Husky when he was in the Northwest doing shows for the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.) and he told me at the end of our series how much he had enjoyed the steel part I played on "Wings of a Dove". That was jus...

This is a great deal for someone! I know from having worked with Buck that he takes first rate care of his gear. Nice guitar for a great price. Might want to move this to the classified section.

Hey Bill H, I think I've played with that same drummer before! CD: was that "Lance Romance" on the road to Wyo? I played 6 nights/wk for a month in Casper (Beacon Club) back in mid 70's. ET & Texas Troub's did a show one Sunday. Driving back from Casper to Spokane I got the "late ...

Right Jeremy, It was great to see Bobby Black, what a great player he is! I saw Sneaky Pete twice with the FBB, and I've seen Rusty Young with Poco, but not Buddy Cage! Oh well, I still put the Panama Red lp on the turntable once in a while and love to hear those super cool Buddy Cage licks. :) (I h...

Which Johnny Bush CD?

I have no recordings of Johnny Bush. I know there is some great steel work in addition to his excellent vocals. If you could only have one CD of his, which would it be?

Buddy Cage is a great country rocker to listen. I can see where trying to cop his licks on 6 string could be a little tough!
I went to see the NRPS at a club in Seattle hoping to see/hear Buddy Cage on steel only to learn that another steeler was filling in for him...Bobby Black!

Just saw the songlist includes Freight Train Boogie, thats worth the price of admission right there. Probably Russ came up with something nice for that one. I have the Delmore Bros recording on vinyl, now I'll have that song going through my head all afternoon til I get home from work (lunch now).

I can echo what David Griffin said above about Johnny Gimble's advice. The lead guitarist in the first band I played steel in heard me getting lost during solos and told me to "hum" the song in my head while picking my lead.

I absolutely agree with Rick's comments. Just from observing my own reaction when I did find myself in that situation I was not overly nervous or "paralyzed" self conscious, I was really just INSPIRED to have a great player in the room. I also found myself in the same room with Rusty Young...

Intersteing that you mention it Ray, in the early 90's I guess it must have been, I was playing the Ranch Restaurant in Everett, Wa and looked over to the bar and saw none other than Paul Franklin sitting there! You bet I was "nervous" but I tried to play same as I would have anyway. I was...

I got Doug Jernigan's "100 Hot Licks" and its full of good patterns for fast picking. It came with a cassette tape of the licks which my old cassette player promtly "ate". I e-mailed Doug to see if maybe its now available on a CD and have had no response. I'm sure he's very busy ...

Richard,
From my experience you are correct, the stainless steel has much less wear, in addition to the sound benefits.

Michael,
Really sorry to hear of your issue with buzzing.
Please keep us posted as to how it gets resolved.
