My dad would go to bed early so they expected me to do the same so I put my radio under the covers and listen to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Billy Jack W...

I have been following this thread with interest and found that Vance Terry's triple neck pedal steel hasn't been mentioned. He played a lot of upbeat music with fast pedal work using two pedals on his Bigsby. Billy Jack Wills Played a lot of swing in those days. I think Paul put those pedals on in19...

Hey Ron, My first date with my wife was to see The Mattox Bros. & Rose memorial day 1950. We wanted to see Roy Nichols play that big guitar and he didn't disappoint us. He played western swing in a hillbilly band. I asked about the steel guitar and they said the brother that played the steel pas...

Hey Ron. Vance was right about Bob. We were there at a dance in Westfir Oregon the night that happened. Bob rode up in his buss, parked in the parking lot and hired Vance and Tiny Moore away from Billy Jack. There was a big crowd out in the parking lot looking at the buss that was all painted up but...

They played quite often in Oregon where I become friends with Vance. Some of the other members were Kenny Lawry and Cotton Roberts on fiddle. Cotton an...
