Found it! A fellow musician from last night's session found it. It fell out of my unlatched case.

Lost my Tribotone bar - now what? Help!

I'm on the road now and lost my Tribotone 2.75" x .75" bar.

I have a substitute cheapo bar (non Tribotone), so I can keep playing. But it's not the same.

Are there any alternative bars available on the market now?

Thanks.

I beg to differ with you Don. It's about marketing, advertising and sex appeal. The uke is much easier to market in a sexy appealing way. The steel not so much. Just take a look at what most steel guitarists look like on stage. They are just sitting there staring at their hands. If an audience membe...

From a public relations and advertising standpoint the ukulele is a much better choice for state instrument than the steel guitar. Honestly, I love both instruments and I have been spreading the gospel of the steel guitar at every uke event I attend (and have started MANY people playing the steel th...

No need for the fart machine Bill. As per tradition, Friday night is Steakhouse Night. Farting begins one hour prior with drinks and bad jokes, continues on at the over-sized table for a party of ten and concludes at midnight back at the hotel when we send out for Chinese food.

I only use C6 tuning CEGACE. I find it to be the most versatile choice. Blues, Hawaiian, Swing, Early Country all fall naturally on this tuning.

Dobro/Uke Duet Waltz - I Feel Pretty - Gerald Ross

Here's a ukulele/Dobro duet. I love waltzes.

Beard/Gold Tone Dobro in C6 tuning. I play all the instruments - uke, guitar, bass and Dobro.

Bill - were you at the HSGA Joliet convention when someone showed up with Dick McIntires' Ric Frypan? Yes it really was DM's instrument. All the elder scholars agreed. We passed the instrument around and everyone tried a tune on it. Remarkably, nobody sounded like Dick McIntire. Everyone sounded lik...

Thanks all. The steel was recorded direct. I plugged it into my Mbox and Pro Tools. I added the reverb as a plug-in on the track. In fact all the instruments were recorded direct. Bill - Fender sounds like a Ric? When Jason Lollar made the pickup for me I asked him to give me the traditional Fender ...

Anyone else experiencing the battery shut off issue that I am? Try this ... On battery power. Crank up the gain, master volume and the guitar volume. Play your steel loud, attack the strings aggressively. Does your THR 10 shut down, turn off completely? Mine does. This is my second THR 10 and both e...

Battery Life: I had about 4-5 hours playing time on a fresh set of batteries mostly uke playing at moderate to high volumes. This morning I hooked up my Fender Champion Lap and fed my iPad backup tracks in as well. Played both at a high volume level. After 30 minutes the THR10 cut out, completely sh...

Got the THR10 last night. Spent about 3 hours playing with it. Initial thoughts: Excellent tone, very loud (good loud) & easy to dial in a good tone. The only effect I really care about is reverb and I find these (spring and hall) a bit too thick and deep. This bummed me out at first. But then I...

Yamaha THR10 for lap steel!

I tried a Yamaha THR5 battery powered amp on Saturday with my 1954 Fender Champion and was blown away with the tone, volume (loud) and the size. I pulled the trigger and ordered the next size up - the THR10. Same wattage (10 watts) but bigger cabinet for reportedly more bass response. The thing only...
