I am sure that Erv's tab will be great.

Since you are in Texas you might want to check out Jim Loessberg's version on his site. It is a little different than most but stays true to the melody.

Great Song.

The bass player in the photo is Fred Jack. Fred is a friend of mind and I first saw him in 1965 when he looked like that. He has always told me stories about Whit but I was never able to meet him. I think he left Colorado Springs in about that time frame.

Fred I hope you see this.

Richard I think the part that is confusing to most folks is that it moves from the 5 chord of D to the 1 key of E. Most modulations move from the 5 seven of original key to the 5 seven of the key moving too. At least that is the way I hear it.

Roger I play very little if any C6th but with a G# note on one an E on two and a B with knee lowered on three that would give you a major chord although I never thought of that till now. You would to ask someone that plays standard C6th.

12 Gauge plain works pretty good but you probably won't have the G# note unless you leave the pull rod loose until you want the G note and loosen it when you have the D. Hope that made sense. I just do without the G# note. I can always put the rod back when I want to.

How neat is that. Played this song many years ago when I had a young guitar player about 19 who was a big Benson fan. I had never heard it before. Really a great song. George

Thanks Frank for posting this.

Steel player for Cody Johnson

Just so you guys know, Harrison Yount is a really young pedal player and plays for Cody Johnson and has for the last six years. He is a really above good steeler. Plays barefooted and you won't meet a nicer, down to earth, young man than Harrison. I first met him at the Dallas steel show in 2019 or ...

I Can See Clearly Now

Does anyone out there have a rhythm track in the style or close to that the stye LLoyd Green had on his version of "I Can See Clearly Now".

I would like to be able to play this with proper backup out live.

Thanks in advance.

LDG Round Front no Pot Medal

Just curious. Wondering who wound up with a Sho-Bud LDG I used to own. Traded in at Mac's Steel Guitar shop in Colorado Springs about 1984 or so. Serial # 11153.

If you happen to own this guitar please contact me on the forum. Thanks.

The Steel Guitar Forum

I am very sad to learn of b0b's passing...I can't put into words what the Forum has meant to me. I first learned of the Forum in Nov of 98. It caused me go buy a computer within a few days. First one I ever had. I joined the Forum in 1998. I should try to look up my number. I have talked with people...

What Bill Said. I contacted Andrea by Facebook yesterday and she said they still have most Herby's material so if you are wanting to have some of his courses that is your contact. She did not give a phone # to call and probably with good reason. She will respond rather quickly to a Facebook request....
