Ric B6 for sale
It pains me to have to sell this, ‘lonesome sound’ machine, I was into steel for a while, but I found it was hurting my hand and I’m hurting for $$$ more. If you’re looking at this you know what it is, but here’s the sell anyway: It’s a pre WW II Rickenbacher B6, (Bakelite), lap steel, the original ...

Country, Country/rock musicals??
I did a search and came up with only one, "best little whorehouse". I was just curious, does anyone know of any other country oriented musicals out there? Thanks in advance . . . .

Very Groovy Gerald!! I always like to hear what everyone is doing in that tuning as that's all I'm messing with right now,(maybe in a thousand years I'll move off of it, but there is so much to learn on just that tuning). And very nicely recorded,(clean and clear). A question if I might, did you use ...

Joaquin Murphy question
Hello all
I've been deeply immersed in listening to Joaquin Murphy lately, To my ear it sounds like Joaquin really liked the playing of Buck Clayton,(trumpet player in the Count Basie band), I really hear him emulating Buck's phrasing at least in terms of dynamics . . .Anyone else agree/disagree?

home made lap steel table (plus questions)
Ok so here’s an option for a home made lap steel table, as I think I’m going to be more comfortable playing standing up and it will be easier to switch from regular guitar and back . . .cut out foam, (2 thick nesses half width for the insert), spray glued to a precut shelf covered with a crushed vel...

Yup, I quite agree Andy. Wes is my all time favorite jazz guitar player. If I could harmonically/rhythmically do what he did with reg. guitar on steel I'd be sooo happy.I think it's a ways off yet though, I guess I jump around alot, string wize, as per Geralds advise I'm gonna learn to like sticking ...

Thanks Gents!! Yes Rick, that's how I had it at 1st but then I thought, in my convoluted way, seeing as I'm already in the slant at that fret, to just kinda slide the bar shape over could be doable but you're probably right not at a tempo that's going at a great clip. And another question for Gerald...

slants on A train?
alright so it's been a while since I bugged everyone . . . I guess this is an exercise in forward slants for me. In an effort to try to play more 'chord melody' style,(meaning more than a 2 note chord), I came up with this goofy arrangement of the (a) section of "take the A train". My main...
