Phil Koontz

I just heard Phil do the most amazingly beautiful rendention of "How Great Thou Art" I ever heard ANY steeler play. Great tone, flawless execution. If you know Phil get him to send you a recording of this. It was great.

Hi Paul,
Haven't heard from you in a while. I was a volunteer fireman for several years many years ago. It runs in my family however. My dad was captain of the crash rescue squad at Ellington AFB in Houston for many years.

Me too, Bobbe. If I'm remembering right, Ray had a beautiful rendition of " Make the World go Away ". I would love to hear that one on the CD.

That was a show well worth the time to watch and listen. Paul was absolutely fantastic, tasteful backup and his leads were right on the money. Martina was in her usual great form and showed herself to be a classy lady when she gave Ray Price the final phrase in Heartaches by the Number. Wish I had r...

Memory

Can someone out there help me??? I'm running Windows XP Home on my computer. I only have 256 MB of RAM so needless to say it is slow. My motherobard will take up to 512MB. My problem is that I can't find a 512MB or 2 256MB sticks of 100/133 SD RAM anywhere. Does anyone have two 256's that they are n...

I don't remember the name of the album itself. I may be able to find out as the song writer is a friend of mine. He should know the title.

Hello, Tony,

There was a song out several years ago, I think by the Greens. Had some real nice steel in it. It was titled "Mention my Name When you Pray". It was written by a preacher down in Parsons, TN named Mike Wilson. Are you familiar with the song?

Another possibility that sounds kinda off the wall but it happened to me. I had very bad pain in my foot, tried hot salt water soak, everything in the book and somethings not in the book. Finally went to a chiropractor. He X-rayed the foot and found a bone dislocated. He worked on it a couple of tim...

I've been worndering the same thing. Reeves used very little steel in his recording sessions but what he did use was great. He did use Cramer a lot for piano. Atkins did a lot of his lead guitar, too. But who was the steel on the rare occasions when there was a steel?

I'm putting my MSA D-10 through an old Randall Commander amp with twin JBL's. Has a real good sound. The Commander was, I think, Randall's answer to the Fender Twin Reverb. I realize that the amp was not made nor intended for steel but it still does a good job. I played an acoustic six-string throug...

Hey John, Thanks for the reply. I have to say that the steel work on the CD reminded me a great deal of your sound and style but I could not find credits on the insert so there was no way I could be sure but a lot of the style sounded like what I heard on your "He Touched Me" CD. BTW, grea...
