https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1712/4501_ricky_004_1.jpg if you carefully remove the horseshoe pickup you will find crushed newspaper inside the hollow metal body. I have been told that when assembled the newspaper at hand is used. This is a good indication of the date of my Model 59.[/img]

It feels counter intuitive to break up a set. However, I completely understand. I need to go for the highest dollar; it's hard living on a fixed income.

great video Mike. I find this tuning very user friendly; especially from a six string guitar player's perspective. Many styles can be played. from blues, rock to country and jazz.
Mike, we should record one of our Friday jazz sessions.

I have two pre war epi's. a Century and an Electar. the pickups had low output when I first got them. I replaced one with a Jason Lollar Chicago Six and the other was rewound by Lindy Fralin. both steels sound and play great. they will outlive me.

My Epiphone Century had weak output when it first arrived at my door. I learned the pickup was open, meaning a wind or several were broken. I sent it to Lindy Fralin. he called back and said no problem. He did a fantastic and affordable job. my 2 cents.

get a hold of Lindy Fralin. he has a website you can find with a google search. he rewound the pup on a 1939 lap steel. it sounds great. he is unfazed by any order it seems. he communicates well. he actually phoned me to clarify what he was going to do after I mailed him the pup. excellent work at a...

my Model 59 original paint. sort of a rough light beige toothy surface. the newspaper inside dates to Oct. 10, 1938. I bought it at Willie's American Guitars in St Paul, MN for $ 395 about seven years ago.
yours looks great and should bring in more bucks. everything works.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v423/dogbitey/ricky004_zps749ee6ed.jpg I had to open up this instrument today. The jack began shorting. As is well known, the inside is stuffed with newspaper.
