The TRi-Pod steel has an aluminum neck. Plus the leg sockets look a little strange.Maybe someone can get a real good closeup of the bridge and other parts. It also appears to have a raised fretboard. ED

12th Street Rag on Steel????

Watching TV the other night I saw JoAnne Castle play 12th Street rag.Has anybody done that on STEEL? It would make a good SPEED PICKIN' number. For a "SLOW" song with a lot of "FEEL" how about "Have I Told You Lately That I Love "?Your wife would probably really like it....

I think a lot of the publicity "SACRED STEEL" is receiving is because it is promoted by the ARHOOLIE FOUNDATION. I glanced at thier website and there was a CD of Sacred Music and the Player was playing a Maverick. As I said I didn't take time to really find out more about this Org. At any ...

Is the MUSIC of TODAY 'STEELABLE"????

With the changing music world I am wondering how many "HIT" songs of today would make good STEEL Instrumentals. In years gone bye most songs had a MELODY and that could be identifed almost immediately. Any comments???. ED Naylor Steel Guitar Works.

In all my years in this business I have never seen a real SHO-BUD lap steel. Also I have never seen a SHO-BUD made out of "Flame" Maple. To find out more about the authenticity of a Sho-Bud you can call GRETSCH at 912-748-7070 and ask for ERNIE. He can possibly verify if a guitar was built ...

Nicholas- You miss the point- I agree paying $500 for a Maverick is too much. But if you already have one why not "FIX" it up. Or do you put it dumpster and spend $500-1200 for something else.Believe me there are thousands of "OLD" guitars and people want to keep them. By the way-...

You must remember one thing- There are 12 notes in the music scale. You can find a note or sound on ANY guitar. Sometimes with 1 string ,sometimes 3/4 strings. In some sense Steel playing is like college. Some want a PHD, and probably can't pass a GED. A lot of pedals .knees, etc.don't necessarily make...

If I did a CD w/Maverick w/3/1 ????????

All this controversy over the "Maverick" some of my friends suggested I make a CD with a Maverick. I am not the best player in the world, but there are things that can be done with 3/1. Also I can donate the money from the 10 CDs I would sell to the Animal projects I work on. If I do this, ...
