cloudy steel images

Hi Fellow Steelers, Just wanted to point out a couple of images-ghost images I might add, on an instrumental I did-"Cloudy Steel". I took a picture of some clouds; when the camera starts to hover over me you will notice the figure of a man's face over my shoulder. You can't help but see it...

Hi Eric, Responding to your post about Kelley. Just my 2 cents: The Gibson Brothers band is an excellent group and Kelley is a fine singer who has developed into a fine songwriter. With Eric O'Hara, and the Gibson Brothers backing on Kelley's album, makes for a fine performance by all. Wish you much ...

Thank you Jerry, appreciate it very much. I'd love to get back to the old peavey amps but they're too heavy for me to lug around anymore.
Hope you're doing well these days,
Rich

Peavey amp

Hello Ya'll Steelers,
I was watching youtube of George Strait playing at the Astrodome and noticed Mike Daily had 2 Peavey wedge amps on each side of him; anyone know what model they were? The speaker looked huge-at least a 15".
Thank you all.

my first steel

I got my first steel, a used d-8 multi kord in 1969. I know exactly what Herb Steiner is talking about, I had no teachers and didn't even know there was any instruction material to be had. After 3 weeks of practicing, I took the steel on stage and the rest is history. Yup, Herb,I, too, played them s...

Thank you guys for sharing the mechanics. Think I'll leave it to the pros who do the major portion of cleaning the changing assemblies; to complicated for my old thinker to dismantle and reassemble all the parts-matter of fact-I might forget where I placed a part-lol :?

Hi Richard,
Perhaps this might be the "right" time for someone to write such a book since most of us aren't able to perform due to this Covid thingy. Of course, I'm not the expert for taking on such a task-anyone?

book on the mechanics of steel guitar

Looking for a book which describes the mechanics and functioning of all the working parts and how to make adjustments and do maintenance and cleaning periodically-is there such a book available?

Thank you much

Really nice guitars at terrific prices. I have a keyless model, very rarely break a string. Hard to believe someone hasn't cabbaged on to one of these beauties yet.

Great price for an excellent guitar. I have the SD-10 model and I will add that since I've owned mine since 2004 I've only broken one string. Good luck with the sale Kevin.

Grover picks

Does anyone make the old style Grover finger picks, they were made from nickel and silver? Also, they are a light pick, easy to shape. I've had a pair of them for many years
Thanks :?:

what to buy

I just got my new Rittenberry. I have over 40 yrs exp.playing many of the brands listed here and all I can say , this new Rittenberry has no "Cabinet Drop", absolutely none. Both my Zum and GFI are excellent guitars, too, of course, Bruce doesn't build his Zums anymore

My sincere condolences for Bernie's family. I never met Bernie but we tried to connect several times when he was up my way. He went to the Post Office in Constable to find out where I lived but our paths never crossed. Someday Bernie it will happen, good Lord willing.

toggle switch bad?

Question: Can a toggle switch go bad? I just replaced a pick-up on my Zum-C-6th neck and now I'm getting cut-outs, goes dead, and sometimes it will be scratchy, then other times it plays good. Didn't have this problem before I changed the pick-up. And the problem happens on both necks now. I've chec...

Xr-16

The BL XR-16 with black, red and white wires are newer than the two wire-black and white. Per Becky Lawrence, the red wire is used as a humbucker if you want it, otherwise just tape the end off. These are a great pick-up. For some reason when I installed them in my Zum, I had a volume increase. Well...
