:( Indeed this is a sad day for those of us who knew Vern. I will always remember those Tuesday jam sessions at Grady Lindler's and Lloyd Brigman's where I got to know Vernon. We had a ball talking recording and electronics of days gone bye. He was quite a guy! We are goning to miss you Vern. Our pr...

I received a new Mullen HWP in February of 2007 and since then Mullen has sent me about 14 replacements tuners...and I am about to send for another replacement. These are the same keys as described in the opening post. These tuners slip, bind and flat out break. My hats off to Dale and Mike at Mulle...

Guys, the simple truth is; there is no way to make a Nashville 112 sound good with any PSG. In my opinon it is the most over-rated Peavey steel amp ever. I have heard some fanominal players using the 112 and it makes all of them sound whimpy compared to other amps. Oh, but take heart because it is l...

Any you folks know where I might get a room? Ken, anything left at Scurry House? If you think there is do you have the number? Looks like I might have to stay in Augusta..... Chuck, you might want to check out the motels in Newberry, SC. It's only about a 25 minute drive and there are a number of m...

Hi Jim, I was thinking of you when I got the word about Del's passing. That must have been a tough time for you. How long was it that you played in his road band? I can't make it for the Saturday night Jam, but will be there on Sunday. I am in Miami all of next week on buiness and can't get a flight...

Vern, nice playing! I haven't seen you in a while. I was hoping to make to the Jam at Lloyds next Tuesday, but I have a schedule conflict for that day. I bought a copy from Herby at the Saluda, SC show back in August and watched it on my laptop...It's terrific! I can wait to see it on my big screen home theater system. It will be better than being there as the camera work is quite good for a live show. It gets up really up close to Herby. Buy up g...

Herby, I am looking forward to seeing you again on Sunday at the Saluda show. Please hold a copy of the Ray Price Tribute CD for me in the unlikely event you should start running low on copies. I definitely want one...among other items. And, remember my offer still stands should you want to stay in ...

Hi Herby, As I have not spoken with you in a couple of months, I trust you are doing better and that you are regaining the use of your right hand. Vern, I will try my best to make to Grady's on the 21st. I will also try to get Lloyd Brigman to come as well. He lives just a few blocks from me. As for my set at saluda...I did not do one. You have me confused with someone else. I think I know who had in mind, but I cannot remember his name for th...

Hi Clark, First Welcome to the Forum...It's a tremendous resource as you have probably discovered. I live in Newberry and work in Columbia. There are at least two of us PSG players in Newberry. The other is Lloyd Brigman, who does a really nice job and is too modest about his ability. We usually get...

Randy, Back in 1977, when I bought my first LDG, I had the very same problem on a new guitar. Now, I realize the changers back then were made differently than on the later model LDGs, but when I made a trip up to Sho-Bud in 1978, Duane Marrs talked me into increasing my 3rd from a .011 to a .012. I ...
