I used to go see Chuck Lettes play around Denver a lot back in the '80s. He was always on a D-10 MSA back then and I'd imagine he knows everything about them. I don't know if he gives lessons but I'd bet he does.

I was lucky and happened into a nice single neck Sho-Bud in about '79 that I'd still enjoy playing today if I had it. I've watched a few people start out on a cheapie only to give it up. Couldn't get that sound they were after or it was just too hard to keep in tune etc.. It's my opinion that it's p...

I got a 2lb bag of "Micro Ingredients" Pure Magnesium Citrate on Amazon that has a scoop in the bag that equals 400 to 500 mg.. I like to mix with a little juice at night. I originally got it to stay asleep all night (recommended by my doc). It's also good to help avoid cramps apparently b...

No seriously, there were posts in the past about guys securing their steel in back of different cars. It seems tempting but I wouldn't. It's only 5 minutes to set it up and a lot safer that way.

Love those old Polytones. Unless you're set on something integrated though there's such a variety of great reverb boxes out now. The only one I have presently is the Nux Atlantic Reverb/Delay and you can get a very wide spectrum of reverbs through it. Also as a bonus you can mix in some delay if you...

I retired too about 1 1/2 years ago. I did get to gig a LOT through the '80s & some in the 90's and a little since then. Now I'm surprised at how busy one can be even without a job. I'm disciplining myself to practice and learning though & fully diggin it. There's so much more to work with n...

Steel player on Joni Mitchell Gershwinn Award?

I'm watching the Joni Mitchell Gershwinn Award (which I guess was this last January) and wondering who's the steel player. I haven't seen a close shot of the steel but it sounds like an Emmons and the player is sooo tasty.

Which section of the Paul Franklin course has the Kemper profiles? I've looked and haven't found any. In fact I haven't seen any mention of the Kemper in his courses. As I remember he does show his actual amp and fx settings. If he also has Kemper profiles I'd sure like to try them.

Thanks for the reply Wayne. Just in case--I found a photo of the MSA bellcranks. It's on a previous for sale post here >>> https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=386299

I don't have a photo here. The Dekley Bellcranks are usually black. The crossbar hole is round and there are usually 4 pull holes I believe. The pull holes are double (the rod goes between them) and a bushing type thing slides through them and the rod is held in the bushing with a set screw. The MSA...

Dekley Bellcrank(s) ?

I'm looking for a Dekley Bellcrank or two. I understand the older MSA had pretty much the same so that would probably work too.

I really liked my Stewart (Stewart 1000 I think it was) but although it was 1u the depth required a bigger rack box.

I really like the Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700. It's small but comes with optional rack ears. Lots of clean stereo power. I think it's 2u though. I never mounted mine in a rack. Take a look here >>> https://www.seymourduncan.com/single-pr ... rstage-700

That's a great price especially considering it includes the foot controller. That controller could be set on a small stand next to a steel player and eliminate any or all other pedals. The Kemper has such high quality amp and fx profiles. If I didn't have one I'd snap this up!

Steve Hinson and his son made a light fiber case for me quite a while back for my Sho-Bud and I put the pedal bar and rods in a soft rifle case. It so happens my Dekley D-12 will squeeze in there as well! 8) Really lightens things up. I don't know if Steve is still making those. Somebody should. I t...

Thanks guys! Your explanations and then watching Buddy do it I can see. I'm still looking forward to that course. If I can get it really smooth I'll give a whack at recording it on my Dekley. I suppose I should get the mechanical rights from Harry Fox agency. I've never done any of that but I assume...

How did Buddy get this chord?

I was listening to Buddy's "Blue eyes" (Elton John tune)instrumental and was confounded about how he got a couple of the melody chords. I listened about a hundred times and even ordered a course with the tab. I'm glad I ordered it because there's a whole bunch of stuff on that course inclu...
