Just played my first gig with my brand new Sierra S10. Aside from it being totally gorgeous and playing butter smooth, the sound was incredible. Everyone in the band commented on the improvement in tone and presence (even the drummer). Thanks Ross, for this fine instrument. The service and help you ...

Pickup comparison with Danny Shields Crap Trap

In one of my guitars I have a Danny Shields 'Crap Trap' pickup and I really like the tone. Can anyone who has had experience with the Shields pickup recommend a currently available pickup whose tone compares favorably with the Crap Trap. Thanks.

It looks like a heli-coil is the solution for mine. I tried the teflon tape, but no luck. The thread on mine is 1/2 - 13. I just need to find someone with the expertise and equipment to drill out the hole in the end plate at the proper angle. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestions. The problem is present in that one single hole in the end plate into which the legs screw. All four legs screw into the other three endpin holes just fine and all of them behave the same in the "problem" hole. All of the threaded inserts on all of the legs are s...

LDG leg issue

I have a mid 70,' LDG. The right front hole in which to screw in the leg appears to be stripped to some extent. The threads seem to catch when you start screwing in the leg, but by the time the leg should be snug, it's not. The leg will not pull out of the hole completely, but it can't be tightened....

Seems to me that Country Rock is any piece of music that a stone redneck 'country' snob thinks is crappy rock music AND that an elitist headbanger thinks is just sucky country. Kind of like the music that brought me through my 'country hating' hippy days and got me hooked on PSG - to this day still ...

Got my first gig on steel about 6 mos after I picked up a PSG. I hung out at a place that had a band on Sun night with a steel player that used to let me get up for a song to see if i could grab the right bunch of strings more than half the time ( It was Ollie Stedman - great player - great guy). On...

Back in RI in the 70's: Bernie playing with Hank Walters was the first live steel player I ever came in contact with. Billy Marshall was a monster player that kept me in awe. Ollie Steadman was the guy who took an interest in me as a young rocker who had just discovered the most amazing of instrumen...
