I think string breakage has a lot to do with your steel and the condition of of your bridge finger (whether it's kept smooth or burred &/or grooved, as well as the mechanics of changer mechanism and how smoothly it's working.

I have a 100 watt tube rack system and tried it through my carvin 12 in monitors. Too thin, partly due to the horns...perhaps. I often use two Mesa Boogie 12 inch cabinets...not the conventional choice for steel but decent sound. 15inch JBLs would be great. (something that won't break up) Not sure y...

Not sure what you're after, but I used a cube60 for couple of days on a studio session (it was in the studio) away from home and loved it. We were recording several tracks live and some seperately. I was playing a Fessenden steel. It gave me a great sound.
