Just wanted to say that I had this happen once, and almost drove me crazy. It turned out to be the strings. As I tuned, the loop on the end of the string that attaches to the tailpiece, got smaller. It was unwinding. I could get it in tune, but a minute later would be out. I bought a better brand of...

Was listening to Bill Mack on the radio during lunch. He announced this news on the air. Very sad news. He was the best...."the voice".

Ms Hammit,

You are one of the best. Have been a fan since your days with Bill Anderson.

Great website.

Country Jack

Hello Jack

If you remember me, I played drums for you last Saturday at Blackhawk.

You guys should have a great show, espcially with Danny Lyles on steel. He is one of the best. Wish I could be there, but will be out of town.

Like Steve said,
Put a short cable from your send to your return jack...then plug your guitar into one of the input jacks.

I have one of these amps, and this has worked for me. If you have those send/return jacks replaced it will fix the problem. But using a cable is cheaper.

I only use my Zum, Volume Pedal, and Nashville 112 amp.

I have tried everything, but to me nothing beats simplicity.

The Tennessean paper announced this morning that the Grand Ole Opry is starting a new Thursday night Opry show in 2009. It will be classic country music only. It will feature the classic stars doing their hits, and new stars doing only the classics. The story is available at tennessean.com It is on ...

I would also like to thank Mr. Seymour. He probably does not know me from Job's turkey...but...If it were not for him, I don't know I would be right now on steel. I bought my Sho-Bud from him in 2004, as well as my seat, amp, and volume pedal. I also have most of his instructional videos. Like he sa...

I was at the Tuesday night Opry on June 10th. He was subbing for Tommy White that night also. I had seat number one on the front row....right in front of him. Beautiful, inspired playing is all I can think of to describe it. He played with everyone that night except Bill Anderson and Jimmy Dickens, ...

A little over a month ago, I was in Nashville and had the opportunity to take in the Opry at the Ryman. It was the first time I had seen the Opry there, and it was a double pleasure because I got the chance to see my son Eddie, who has been playing steel with Bill Anderson for just about two years ...

I agree with all of you, I do not like the new stuff. But I attend the Opry at least once a year, and there is still some great music to be heard on the Opry...you just have to go on the right night. A couple of years back Gene Watson and his band brought me up out of my seat and raised the hairs on...

First "real" concert was in 1991 at the new Pyramid Arena in Memphis, TN. Hank Williams Jr, Patty Loveless, and Doug Stone. A packed house with around 22,000 in attendance. All three artist had steel guitars, of course Hank had the great Cowboy Eddie Long on steel. First concert that I rem...

The National Anthem was lip-synched. I was watching for it and saw it. Tom Petty was playing live, and still sounding great. I make it a point to watch the drummer. If it is tracks playing, the drummer will usually hit a cymbal that does not match the track, or you will hear a cymbal crash and he do...

WSM

This discussion reminds me of how important 650 WSM radio out of Nashville is. It is available on AM radio, internet, and XM satellite radio. Thanks again everyone for posting. Carl, You wanted a report on going from a Sho-Bud to a Zum. I played a gig Sunday night with my Zum. I saw the show a few nights ago on PBS. I thought it was awesome seeing Clapton playing "Matchbox" with Carl Perkins and Cash. I didn't know that performance even existed.

I could tell Clapton was in awe of Perkins as he took his turn playing lead.

Zum for Christmas

May family gathers every Christmas at my parents house to exchange gifts. When we were nearly finished last night, my parents came dragging this out for me. I was overwhelmed to say the least. I am very thankful and proud. Looks like my old Sho-Bud will spend some time in the case while I get to kno...
