OK Hahahaha I'm laughing but if you don't like this deal you surely won't like my comedy. My friend the show is a cable access show in regional distribution. It has aspireations of being more but currently that is all it is so the $1,000.00 compensation is actually very good when compared to most op...

If You Record It - I Will Air It On TV
That’s right folks, I have just been given this assurance from Poorman and the producers of Poorman’s Bikini Beach. Every original Theme song (30-90 seconds) that is submitted will at some point be used somewhere in the show. Here is how it is going to work. The show is set to begin airing in the Lo...

Bob, yes as I have announced with less marketing oriented posts in the past there is a fee associated with production of the video. I only post it at the request of Poorman who will gladly provide all details but the answer across the board to your questions is Yes, there is a Fee - $500.00, yes con...

Thanks Ken, I spoke with Rick on Friday and he will be expecting your email. I totally understand the business behind checking sources so I have no real problem with it and in the end your confirmation of it can only be a good thing. To double confirm with the artists here about packages received. A...

Ken, I can appreciate your diligence in this matter but I can assure you I am working with Post Modern on this project. I work directly under company President Rick Warren and the specific show I am working on for them at this given moment is Poormans Bikini Beach Party. Marla has never met me and i...

I always felt that if those seated in tables at the middle of the room or further back from the stage were having to lean close together to carry on a conversation then not only was it too loud but was quite likely that the highs were to high in the mix as well. Those who sit close to the stage tend...

The KinFolk and "Little AL" Dinkinberger
I just finished listening to an album that was submitted to me for film licensing that was a great joy to listen to. The production was rough and noisy by today’s standards and some of the vocals were a little off key and on occasion the drummer even dropped a beat but it had some really beautiful P...

I have recently changed jobs. After a year of working as the A&R rep for Javamusic.com I have moved on to a job that allows me to be of greater good to Independent artists worldwide. I am now working as a musical director at Post Modern Edit, which is one of the worlds top Post Production Houses...

I Met Carl West Today
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Carl West this afternoon at a small Coffeehouse in downtown Brea, Ca. Spent about 3 hours with him chatting about the Bakersfield sound and Country music in general in the late 50's and 60's. He shared a wealth of knowledge with me and I really enjoyed it. Was most ...

It is true, lo-fi does not translate production very well. It tends to compress the Highs out of existance.
Overall though We have found that Lo-fi is a very useful tool for promotion.

Personally I think it is better to provide full length tunes then clips and here is why. I can cut 30 seconds of good out of just about any piece of music. So clips can be decieving and also they are simply to short to really give me the flavor of the song. You can't cover verse chorus bridge in a 3...

What Good Is The Internet To The Indie Artist?
Ok, this is the A&R guy and promoter coming out in me but I have to pose these next questions. <b>“What kind of opportunities do you see that the Internet presents to you as an artist?” Do you simply use the Internet as a place to hang out and share with friends or is it something you see as a v...

If so I need to contact him or anyone in his band Cactus Choir. I need to contact them so I can either add them to the program or return the shipment to them. I...

Netscape 4.7 or earlier is incompatibale with the JavaMusic site. Any newer version of Netscape of any version of Internet Explorer should work fine there.
