Thanks all for your replys.
Brad thanks for the email.

Seems like they are just like the imports with embellishments, therefore more costly.

Liberty Reso's

Anybody have experience with this company? Seems like one of those deals that is too good to be true. American made, available for 3-400 dollars, etc. How is the company to deal with? Instrument quality? How would you describe the sound of a metal top and a spider bridge combo? Any other things you ...

Mr Pierce,

Have you compared the Leno capo to Paul Beards capo? If so what did you think of the Beard one?
My understanding of Reso capos is you have to be carefull not to kink the strings, and that os Leno's claim to fame.

Thanks

Mike, I happened to be in Nashville this weekend and the SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of BlueGrass Music in America) had a convention. Resophonic Outfitters had a booth an I met Paul. Very nice gentleman. We had a nice chat about entry level Reso instruments and his kit. His basic input to t...

To all,

My thanks for all your inputs. I guess I will have to hold out for some more $ and visit Paul Beard or find a good used Regal model 45 and have it upgraded. I heard the Regal model 35's are not very good either.

Thanks again for all the help.
Blessings

Aaron, Thanks for the reply, I will probably have Paul Modify whatever I get at some point. I have heard good things about his work. I didn't particularly like the biscut resonators either. This one is a spider bridge and seems to be ok. Sounds nice, just have some questions about value, durability,...

Mr Smith, Thanks for your assessment. I am currently using an old student guitar with a nut extension to practice with. I proved to myself that I am willing to invest the time in learning to play dobro, so I would like an intermediate set up like the Regal I think. I'll just have to save and get the...

Epiphone Spider Resonator Guitar

I would appreciate some advice. I found a used Epi Square neck spider reso guitar. How do they compare to the other imports, like the Regal -45 or -35? are they made in the same place? Finally do they upgrade well with new cones, bridge and nut? Used $300.00 with case, is that a reasonable price? Th...

Mr Smith,
Thanks for the offer. I am debating whether to buy a stock instrument or hold out for a while. I am not familiar with the Johnson line at all. How does it compare with the Regal models 35 and 45?

Respectfully;
Keith

Mr Smith, I wanted to encourage your efforts to develop a good, lowcost, beginners instrument. I am looking to buy my first resophonoc square neck and have been trying to find a good instrument. (currently practicing on a student guitar with a nut extender) I have chatted with Mr. Beard in the past,...
