I treasure this picture I had taken with Tony years ago at Graves Mountain. Like many of you, this has been a gut punch to me. Tony is without a doubt my favorite of all time. My musical palette runs the gamut and it has been a slow realization over the last few months that without TR my musical fou...

Here's a link to one of the songs Sonny did with Red Steagall. On Truck Driving Man you can really hear the doubling in full effect.

What a great project! I am really enjoying this Travis! Lock the Door feels like something Steely Dan would've done! And I obviously mean that as a complement of the highest order. Not saying that it sounds like anything they've done, just the feel makes me feel like I do when I listen to some of th...

Those that don't love Tommy have never met him. Last time I saw him, he was playing with Jim Lauderdale at the Mucky Duck in Houston. Super small venue. Incredible listening room. Tommy slayed!!!

Call it what you want... but Chris Stapleton is "great" music to my ears. I kind of hate labels anymore. He was probably the "bluesiest" bluegrass singer I've ever heard (when he was with The SteelDrivers); next to Dave Evans that is. I dearly love "real" country music....

I believe that's Jim Hoke. Great stuff! I always loved Willis Alan Ramsey's version of this song. I think Red Rhodes may have played on his version of it.

I just went back and looked up the post Paul made in 2009 and he clearly stated what tracks Buddy played on... I guess my memory ain't what it used to be.

As Jim stated; it was a beauty! :)

Jim, I think that was Paul Franklin. Paul, Buddy and John Hughey all played on David Peterson's album, but it's definitely Buddy on "The Waltz You Saved for Me." I'll add one more, out of hundreds of favorites: "Please Help Me I'm Falling" from "Twang a Country Song" w...

Roy Buchanan - "Misty"

Wow! I could listen to Roy for hours on end... and do often. This is quite a departure from what I'm used to him playing.

The only resonator guitar player listed in the credits for that album on Allmusic.com is Uncle Josh Graves...
