I could be mistaken as to it being a canadian version of the forum, however someone on gave the address to me a few months ago and it featured canadian steel players, depots for guitars and accessories and lists of steel guitar festivals such as the one in o.k. falls...the steelguitar.eh, produced n...

Thanks to those who commented on my latest posting, very interesting remarks and makes one not feel too bad owning a ZB. Any quick suggestions on how to avoid breaking the third and fifth string when changing them? Also wondering best suited lubrican for pedal mechanism....tnx Alan ------------------

Pickin away
Hello Steel Players, I haven't checked in on the forum in awhile, but I have been working on playing my 11 string ZB steel. Thought about selling it, but the darn thing sounds so good tone wise that I've decided to keep it. It is limited with only two knee levers, but thats enough for now. It has th...

Very interesting comments about traditional country music. I had the good fortune of being a radio disc jockey from 1970 through 1990. I did my best on country shows to feature the best in traditional country. I recall the Ricky Skaggs hay day...gosh I think the music he recorded prior to bowing out...

An new instrumental release I listened to today
For the first time I listened to an instrumental release today. The title of the CD is Mixing it Up by Randy Pokeda of Williams Lake B.C. Canada. It's a nice blend of steel guitar, dobro, fiddle, electric six string and some banjo. I really enjoyed the selection of down to earth country selections a...

What do you think of the Tom Brumley Steel Sounds?
I grew up listening to Buck Owens and The
Buckaroo's....At age nine I was taken by the
guitar sounds of Don & Buck, and totally by the beautiful steel guitar with Tom Brumley in charge. I sure there are many greater, but he sure fit the Buckaroo's agenda in my
opinion....
