I got some bars from Wayne Johnson in August. 7/8 X 4 1/4. In aluminum and stainless steel. Reasonable pricing, excellent quality.

BJS makes excellent bars. I would also consider Wayne Johnson's tone bars--excellent product, custom sizes no problem.

Listeners might be interested to know that I used a hard rubber slide for that recording. Not much sustain.

You could drive the pin out and prop the top against the side of the pedal, and then support the ends of the top to go after it with a big hammer. You wouldn't have to re-string it.

Or send it to me and I could make it all right.

I don't use a stand per se, I clamp stuff to the back legs of the instrument.

I know this is a big leap and maybe something you don't even want to think about, but tuning down would solve your problem. I use a 25" scale and I've been playing extended D9 for many years. .012" on the 3rd string and I never break strings.

I have that change on strings 1 and 7 with extended D9. In addition to Pete's ideas, In open position it gives you a way to play a #9 chord: strings 6, 5, 2(lowered a half step), 1(raised a half step). And if you riff around in Em on fret 12 (with B pedal down), it's your minor third. Two frets down...

thank you, Joe, for articulating what many of us feel about playing this crazy instrument. We juggle so many factors when we play. I believe that the goal of practicing is to make them second nature so that we can bring creativity and art to what we do. And then the bottom line: OMG am I in tune????...

Michael, good to know that it weighs .96 lb. I've always just said it was about 1 lb. Now I can say it's less that a pound.
Just for the record, I sell the pedals for $135.

I'm just going to pipe in here and say I'm around with advice, parts and/or help for copedant changes or whatever.

OK I'm biased. It's the only volume pedal I use.
