Thanks

Thanks for your comment and your thoughts. One of the hardest things (for me, at least) is not "preaching" to "kids" (I'm 67.. now, almost everyone is a "kid") about smoking. "Hey, kid... enjoying that ciggie? Want to see my chemo port?" As for the Pro III, I'...

ShoBud Pro III D-10 Ebony - 8 floor / 5 knee

For Sale Purchased in 2001, I am parting with my ShoBud Pro III. This instrument has been 'out' a grand total of once, otherwise.. it has been in my smoke-free basement studio. Audio Technica

Several years ago I purchased a couple of 4050s made by Audio Technica. Besides being great recording mikes, I wanted to compliment them on the Customer Service part of thier business which most companies ignore. These are condenser mikes suspended in what are usually known as 'spider mounts' suspen...

It's a rebate thing. I've got a stack of Maxells that cost me nothing via the mail in rebates. The rebates can save you a bunch. You've got to be a savvy shopper. Most retail is around 30 cents a pop. Never a buck.

Sucker Born Every Minute

I had a rather large project out of my studio and went shopping on eBay for some blank CDs. There's a guy who is selling and getting bids for 'A BLANK CD' at $1.00 plus shipping. I usually buy them in spindles of 100 and they cost me less than a nickel a pop. One of the best parts about playing musi...

I use a Miracord w/ ElectroVoice Cart (vintage stuff) thru a Behringer mixer into the computer via MOTU 2408 and the CD I burn is as flawless as the LP. If the LP is scratched up I can do some fixing but not much. It can be done. ------------------ Louis Schubert ShoBud Pro III D-10 / Nashville 400 ...

On my earlier ShoBud, RKR only operated 2 to D & C# and had a unique 'second spring' device. On my ProIII, it appears that the rod on 2 has the nylon adjuster right up against the changer lever and there is a gap on the rod on 9 between the adjuster and the changer lever. Once you have 2 down to...

Fair Use Act

Kind of a followup to my BMI/ASCAP post of last month... I have a client who does a non-profit music thing with underprivledged children. We make CDs for the teachers so that they can practice these songs. Some are public domain, some are homegrown but some are copyrighted pieces. She has asked that...

Golly! I've got an 11 year old redhead with a cute outfit and a cowboy hat who sings "What Ever Happened to the Yodeling Cowgirls" and whose mother wants to sell a few CDs at the local Harvest Festivals and my post has generated this amount of interest...! I'm astounded. I have informed my...

I worked a show for a couple of weeks in Underground Atlanta with Adam Gosdin and tried to get in touch with Adam for another gig and wound up calling Vern because Adam was not in the Atlanta phone book. He did window glass from a shop behind his house in Jonesboro and explained to me that he and hi...

ASCAP/BMI help needed

I have a little studio here in my basement and a client of mine would like to do a CD of her child (who was a contestant on the World's Most Talented Kid show) which they could sell at her performances. The issue is the ASCAP/BMI royalties. How do I get information about how to set up this so that t...

I played bass with Eddie Fukano on a tour with the HeeHaw show in 1970 thru the Carolinas and Sheb and I ended up being roommates. He taught me to play the Sugarfoot Rag on the guitar. Thanks, Sheb, I still remember most of it. I'll never forget how an old pro made a novice feel like he was as much ...

Go for Kazaa Media Desktop. The selections depend entirely on who is signed in at any time. When I was last in, there were about 3,500,000 participating... not bad. Once you have accumulated a goodly amount of selections, you may wish to turn it off 'cause lots of folks may be downloading stuff from...

I've Enjoyed all of This That I Can Stand

I clearly remember 'Ive Enjoyed all of This That I Can Stand' as a song title from (I think) back in the 60's. I may have been done by Porter Wagonner or the Wilburn Brothers. I've tried Kazaa and can't find it. A woman who is local here in Blue Ridge brought a tape for me to transfer to CD and that...

I can truly appreciate the comment I got. Maybe I need a hat with a smiley face on it http://steelguitarforum.com/smile....

erik: The neck appears to be vanilla Fender, the pickups appear to be J-Bass. He may have done a little work on the body and done a refinish job. It looks nice but there's still nothing that can hold a candle to my Smith 5 String.
