Mike, yes, it's a pretty amazing resource. Pretty dense with useful information. And yes, he certainly pushes the discussion away from only the usual impedance and winding questions. I'm slowly learning more and more about electronics in general and audio-related electronics in particular, and so I'...

Pedal steel guitar pickups: frequency and Q
Has anyone seen a comparison of different pedal steel guitar pickups based on the kind of analysis done by Helmuth E. W. Lemme? See: http://www.buildyourguitar.com/resources/lemme/ The measurement of the cutoff frequency, the resonant frequency, and the slope of the filter above the cutoff frequency...

Solution. I called Red Dirt Cases hoping they could lead me to wheel suppliers. Jen there was great! She referred me to TCH ( tchweb.com ). I called the Dallas office and talked to Clark. They supplied the original manufacturer with wheels back when. On the phone, Clark looked up the original model ...

Jerry, thanks. The axle seem to be riveted. I suppose one could drill it out and put in a new axle.... Or your Penn Elcom link is interesting. This one https://www.pennelcomonline.com/us/Penn-Elcom-Pair-of-50mm--2-Grey-Corner-Castors-With-Angled-Housing-W2001/m-5895.aspx in particular has a housing ...

Texas Case Manufacturing
Wondering if anyone has experienced this. I have a case for my 2002 MSA Millennium U-12. It was made by Texas Case Manufacturing which, it seems, is no longer in business. The plastic wheels seem to have an inner part and an outer "casing" that contacts the ground. The outer part on one of...

Looking for rollers for Carter Starter
I'm looking for at least two of the little brass(?) bushings that are part of the roller nut of a Carter Starter. Anyone have a few extra? As you can see in the photo, there are two missing. I'd like to replace them, and if possible have a couple of extra .... Thanks. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/...

You're right. I went afield.... In theory, there is nothing wrong, even for my copedent, with using LKL for the F raise. I happen to have my Universal's 9th string B raise to D and 2nd string D# lower to D and C# on that. But one could imagine that swapping with my current RKL F raise. Why not? No r...

I agree with RKR for lower and RKL for raise. I have to have the left knee free for my left knee levers which I use in conjunction with the B6-like changes as well as when I think of the entire tuning as both/neither E9/B6. I have a B->A# on LKR and a G#->A LKV, neither of which would be convenient ...

WTB: S-10, 3 & 2; non-working pedals/levers/changers okay
I'm starting in on a project and would like to get my hands on a very inexpensive S-10, 3&2. Essentially, all I need is the PSG body. The pedals and levers need to be present, but don't necessarily even need to work. DON'T need pull rods or working changers. DO need bridge, nut, tuning pegs, 3 p...

Here are some photos of 8-string, square neck Dobro. You can see the REP stampled where a serial number might be on the head. You can see some scuffs on the back and oddness where the neck connects to the body. Any ideas about this thing and thoughts about a reasonable offer price are appreciated. T...

Dobro serial number / age question
I recently saw, and have the opportunity to buy, a square neck, 8-string, wooden Dobro. It has its nicks and blemishes for sure, but I am confused by what is stamped on the head. I've looked at various web sites which talk about deciphering the numbers and letters there, but I haven't seen on those ...

Timely topic
I'll be bringing my pedal steel to NYC when I move there within the next couple of months. If a steel store in fact materializes in the City, I will of course be dropping by.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Steel in Nashville Dec. 18 and 19, 2009 ?
I'll be in Nashville for the first time in my life (imagine that), but only for a couple of days, next weekend, Dec 18-20. I'd be free (on the evening of Fri. 12/18, and Sat. 12/19, or even during the day on the 20th) to go hear some great pedal steel player somewhere. Anyone know of anyone to go he...

Wanted: pedal steel music in NY City, weekend of 10/30-11/1
Anyone know of any pedal steel happening in New York City the weekend of Halloween? I'm going to be there then and am interested in seeing any good players there.
Order of listening preference lately: jazz, western swing, country.
Any leads appreciated. Thanks.
