While I'm not sure if the Fender legs you're speaking of are the same as regular pedal steel legs, This might be one possibility. I have replaced the part I think you're asking about with the ferrules that are inside the compression fittings that are made for rigid copper tubing. I just made one cut...

Terry, I think I understand what you are asking. The way I think of the relative minor barre chords is that each one is three frets below the equivalent major. If you're making a C chord using an E chord formation barred at the eighth fret, then the A minor is on fret five just lift the middle finge...

I stopped the legs on my old MSA Classic from slipping by replacing the ferrules that are supposed to do the gripping of the inner tube. I used 1/2 in. brass ferrules that are made for rigid copper tubing compression fittings. I made one cut thru each ferrule with a hacksaw allowing them to flex eas...

I don,t know if you'd be interested in a Tennessee Rose, or even if it's still available but Terry Hollifield recently had one for sale. Supposed to be in super condition, walnut finish, I believe and the price sounded really fair at the time we talked about it. You could Email him at terryh@swoffor...

HI Bill, While the Carter Starter is a "permanent" set up as far as the tuning changes, the pedal rods have the fairly standard 10-32 threads and the leg threads are 1/2 x 13. There is only a small adjustment built into one rear leg for leveling.(at least on the ones i've seen) So, you'll ...

You can get pedal rod extenders that fit between the existing pedal rods and the connector socket at the bottom. They work fine.

One source would be Bobby Seymour at Steel Guitar Nashville. I think he gets $5.00 each for his.

Charles,

It was a pleasure meeting you and Ray. You did a great job with that Conway song. I could listen to a bunch of that.

As I said before, If you can play those same fills on steel guitar that you were whistling outside you'll be a great player!

See ya' next time,

Don

Beautiful Work Ricky and Ray, I just want to say that In my opinion, Mr. Stadler built the most beautiful steel guitar cabinets that have ever been produced and the mechanics of his guitars were first rate for their day. In 1969 my Dad traded a D-10 pull-release Marlen that he had bought used to Leo...

I'll take a shot at this one although I haven't worked on one in many years. What I would suggest is that on strings 3 & 6 (I'm assuming this is an E9th. tuning) you adjust the pedal stop screws (on the bellcrank where the pedal rod connects to the torsion bar) so that both changer fingers pull ...

I once had a 3rd. string to break at the tuner end that curled over my bar hand and stuck thru the metal fretboard. I know this sound impossible but it actually happened, believe it or not! The point of this story is that a broken string could very easily pierce an eye. I wouldn't want a small child...

Ed, There is a Kalina on EBay now, a six string with four pedals. I don't know any details about this particular model of Multi-Kord, but it just looks like a variation of the regular M-K. I have an eight string six pedal regular wood body one in my collection. It belonged to my Dad and he made a LO...

Roger, To answer your question regarding the Sonica lap steel, in my humble opinion it is about one step better than no lap steel at all. I bought one on EBAY, the final bid being $152.00. I was not impressed by the quality. It is made in China. It is made of some rather low density species of wood....
