1st string raise
The first string raise on my MSA returns flat when I release it. I thought maybe my string was slipping but I replaced it with no improvement. Any help trouble shooting this would be appreciated.

ShoBud weight gain
Has anybody noticed any tendency of ShoBud guitars to gain weight over time? I had to move my D10 Pro 2 for the first time in a couple years and it really seemed like the old girl had put on a few pounds!! I could barely get her in and out of my trunk!! Anyone experiencing anything similar?

Sold
It took about 5 minutes to sell this guitar. Sounds like it's going to a good home. Close this one out. Donation on the way.

Custom Built ShoBud Fingertip
I'm the third owner of this beautiful old Bud but it hasn't been out of the case for over a year and I guess it's time to turn it over to someone who will use it or at least have it out on display. I spoke with Ken Cranford the original owner several years ago and he related his experience of going ...

'51 Fender Single 8 with Trapezoid Pickup
What are the correct pot types (linear vs audio taper) and values for my Fender lap steel? I stupidly replaced the originals years ago and discarded them. The current components are not doing the job. I purchased an older AB tone pot from a forumite a while back but when I finally got around to inst...

Nashville 212
Somebody spilled a beer on my Nashville 212 last night and it didn't seem to have any ill effects. Come to think of it, the amp sounded better afterwards although that may have been due to the beer that wasn't spilled (the ones I managed to consume). Not only are these wonderful sounding amps but th...

Another Use for the C6 neck
Broke a string in the middle of "Crazy Arms" the other night. After a moments panic, I remembered I had another neck with 10 intact strings!! Barely missed a beat. I use both necks equally at a typical gig, but I have my E9 songs and my C6 songs and if I need a 6th feel on a E9 song I norm...

Blonde Williams D-10 8X8
My wife tells me I can keep all four of my pedal steels if I buy her a bigger house. I hate to sell my Williams but it's the lessor of two evils. This is a late 90's model with the 400 series changer. Bill Rudolph tells me this type of highly figured quilted maple is very difficult to find. The fini...

I hereby nominate myself to the presidency of the Jim Palenscar fan club. Jim turned my unplayable Pro II Custom into a keeper in a couple of hours (75 bucks). I'm maybe a couple hours drive from his place but I haven't had any occasion to return since my Bud is working perfectly. Thanks again Jim. ...

Fender Deluxe 8 Pots
I have a pretty nice '51 with the wrong pots. They are quiet but very stiff and obviously not original What are correct replacements and where might I find them?

My Pro II Custom has the two hole pullers and slots on the changer fingers so I'm assuming the latter are pot metal. Is the issue with the pot metal fingers tone or breakage? There is a conspicuous absence of grooves on my changer fingers (unlike my modern instrument with aluminum fingers)which I wo...
