Mark, Ireal Pro is a useful app that has backing tracks to a lot of Jazz standards and lot's of other styles too. It doesn't sound as good as Band in a Box but a lot of the tracks you find on it sound good and are fun to play along with. Like BIAB, you can write your own progressions and there is a ...

If you have Ireal Pro, it's on an Ireal Pro playlist called Western Swing 5. It's been awhile since I acquired it and I might have found it on the Ireal Forum using the search engine, if it's not a playlist that comes with the app.

Thanks for posting this Andy. I don't use slants very often but I've been wanting to get into them more lately and this post is inspirational. I used one today on a Dobro gig and I've been wanting to learn more slants on the Dobro tuning too, along with the C6 tuning.

Larry, I haven't played a six string guitar through the TM Deluxe yet but I have played guitar through the TM Twin and I liked it a lot and thought it sounded really close to a tube Twin Reverb. Having said that, I have played guitar through reissue Deluxe Reverbs and vintage Deluxe Reverbs and I do...

Larry, I don't recall having it up past 5 or 6 but it was very clean at that volume. It seems to have plenty of headroom and it sounded great at an outdoor county fair gig we played at where everything was mic'd up. I had great clean tone, plenty of headroom, and the XLR out sounded excellent! Of co...

I just picked up a Tone Master Deluxe and I like it a lot. It's 6 lbs lighter than the TM Twin which was a big selling point for me. I played an outdoor gig at a county fair where we were all mic'd up and it handled our stage volume really well and the XLR out sounded great. The next gig I played wa...

I have a Tone City Bad Horse and I like it a lot. It's the only overdrive/distortion pedal that I'll play 3ds with. They are built like a tank, so it surprises me that it died on you. Steel Forum member Jim Sliff mentioned the Bad Horse and another OD pedal called a Hotone Grass pedal in a post abou...

I noticed how Buddy would sit up straight with really good posture when he played and found that when I did the same thing I played better. I'm sure quite a few of the licks I use all of the time originated from Buddy Emmons too.

I started transporting the body of my D10 in a Keyboard gigbag and I've been putting the pedal rack and leg bag with the pedal rods in a 3/4 size guitar gigbag. Although it's still a little heavy, it's a lot better than having it all in one case.

If you go with raising both strings 1 and 7 a whole step, see if they can put a half stop on them so you can get a Dom7 chord in the AB pedal down position. It'll double the usefulness of that change. I find it difficult to try to feel the half step without halving a half stop on it.

Bob, I agree with Dave, the 12 changes he mentioned would be what I would consider the must have C6 changes. If you could put that setup on the C neck and then some sort of basic 8/4 or even better 8/5 on the E neck, the new owner would have a nice set up that would keep him busy for years to come.

Jon, I suspect that you are right. Your description of the one you have pretty much describes the one I mentioned. The one I have is basically a one trick pony but it does a good job on the auto wah sound when you get it dialed in. Good luck Lee, I suspect you'll be happy with whatever you wind up b...

Is Krivo making a pickup that would work on an 8 string square neck resonator guitar? If not, does anyone know what kind of p/u's 8 string reso players are using these days? It probably hasn't changed from the last time I asked about it, but I thought I'd ask just in case something new has come up.
