Amber Digby -- Heroes, Mentors and Friends

The Legends Project
Just got this from Heart of Texas records. It has Amber doing duets with lots of country "legends", like Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Vince Gill, Mo Bandy, etc. Good stuff. Tommy Detamore on pedal steel.

Triad on the leading tone (7th degree of the major scale) is a diminished triad. If the bass player is playing the dominant (5th degree), then the bass and steel are making a complete dominant 7th chord (5 7 2 4) A complete dominant 9th has 5 7 2 4 6 or 5 7 2 4 b6 (minor 9th). If you're playing thr...

Re: E9th Split Tuning Diminished Chords and Riffs - Samples

Here's some practical uses for split tuning diminished single note riffs and chords. Note that the band does not need to play any diminished chords for these to work. There are other ways to play the single note riff but split tuning (or 1/2 A Pedal) on string 5 allows for a simple logical picking ...

Sometimes a 7th chord can be confused for a Diminished chord. Both can be made by engaging the F knee lever. I also like to throw in a 9th chord every once in a while. It can add some spice to your playing. :D Erv Triad on the leading tone (7th degree of the major scale) is a diminished triad. If t...

Ballpark price for a 2001 Carter D10, 9+7

This is a 2001 Carter (BCT) D10 with 9 pedals (Franklin far left) and 7 levers. It has an unusual E9 copedant (no D string, low G#; a lever lowers 8 to D, another lever lowers G#s to G). C6 has D on top, 5 pedals, 4 levers. I also have a Peavey Nashville 400, and a sh**load of instructional material...

steel repair near Sacramento, CA

I need someone to give my 2001 Carter D10 a "tuneup" -- clean it up, oil it up, adjust everything so all the strings return to pitch after being raised/lowered, etc. etc.

I live 20 miles from Sacramento, in Yolo County.
Anyone know someone, PM me, please.
Thanks,

size of nylon tuning nuts on Carter steel guitar

On PSGparts.com, they have #3, #4 and #5 tuning nuts? Which would fit a Carter D10?
I'm trying to get my guitar all fixed up and ready to sell, but one of the nuts is missing.

I think the biggest "trick" in minor keys is when you realize that the scale changes on the V7 chord. For example when you're in A minor you play pretty much in the C, D and G positions over most of the chords. But when it goes to the E7, you want to temporarily "switch keys", a...

For a real beginner, I would recommend Jeff Newman's "Pedal Steel Guitar Techniques" and "Right Hand Alpha" before the "Up From the Top" series. You need to learn HOW to play before WHAT to play.

Scotty's music has one called "Steel Pickin' on Connie Smith," with four different steel guitarists playing instrumental versions of Connie Smith tunes, plus one vocal by herself.
