Hey Orville! Good to see you here! Sorry I missed you at the Tractor. Teach me to check in here more often. Thanks for cutting "Slide and Joy." Great! I've really enjoyed your playing at Wintergrass every year. It was good learning for me the year you were at Mike Auldridge's workshop and ...

Could anybody help me choose where the pedal goes in the line up between lapsteel output-separate preamp-amp input. Between lap and preamp volume increase seems linear, but lower. Between preamp and amp input volume overall level is higher, but seems to jump up noticably at about the halfway point. ...

What Andy said above. Ignoring it and letting it develop as a 'heard' experience let's it come from the artistic/musical/creative part of us and not the studied/rational part. Both valuable, necessary, as with most things, but this is what's worked well for me. playing lap steel, resophonic, horn, a...

Ted I've always liked your energy and spirit about slide music! I'll get into this too. Think we could ask friends or the Video class at the local HS or Jr Coll to do this for practice. Best for me is "Feather" to Baggs Para acoustic to California Blonde or PA, Much better than Line 6 pOD and/or Peavey KB100 amp, tho they're good for other stuff! Leave your older McIntyre pou in and blend them for some great sound options. The original endpin jack is stereo, so there you ...

Andy, I 2nd what the ham guys above John and Jerry said about chokes and caps. I've had good use from a Ron Tipton bar, which I've heard is what the Sheerhorn is modelled after. Also Lapdawg is a lil lighter, and easier to move with good sustain. Shubb Pearse cutaway has been good for the the 8 strg Melobro. Like Stevens on my old oahu 6, for some reason.
