Ted you're da man on the research. Thanks so much for testing transducers on resos! This has been a project in the works for years. Best to you. Will your accessible reso body be suitable for performance outside the lab, or strictly a research platform. Just thinking how neat it would be to tinker a...

Could anybody help me choose where the pedal goes in the line up between lapsteel output-separate preamp-amp input. Between lap and preamp volume increase seems linear, but lower. Between preamp and amp input volume overall level is higher, but seems to jump up noticably at about the halfway point. ...

Dirk, What Howard and Tim said. Using Reed with older and newer Mac's for stereo blending. Using the preamp helps a LOT. RLBaggs here. Both good. presence at 3 oclock/other 4 eq's flat at 12/gain at 12(50%) To California Blonde flat,rev/2,gain at 2,master vol 12-3 as needed. Or, to Peavey KB100 to &...

What Andy said above. Ignoring it and letting it develop as a 'heard' experience let's it come from the artistic/musical/creative part of us and not the studied/rational part. Both valuable, necessary, as with most things, but this is what's worked well for me. playing lap steel, resophonic, horn, a...

Ted I've always liked your energy and spirit about slide music! I'll get into this too. Think we could ask friends or the Video class at the local HS or Jr Coll to do this for practice. Did that back in Alabama, it worked out great for everybody. Ask em about the sound. Your demo video came out just...

Andy, I 2nd what the ham guys above John and Jerry said about chokes and caps. Us hams are used to signals getting into and outof where they shouldn't, whether it's our equipment or others', so we're used to dealing with it. It's like playing with others-sometimes we're resonant with others beat and...

Ted I'm glad to hear you're OK! Good to see you're limiting access to your time. I know I was probably one of the worst offenders bugging you about when my Melobro would be ready...case of uncontrollable enthusiasm... but I admit abusive of your generosity of time on the phone and email. I've seen t...

Melobro is the item! Just got back from our Pac NW Wintergrass last week. Got stopped a lot carrying my Midnight Navy 6 string around jamming with folks who thought the tone, volume and sustain were just great. They really liked it's looks, too. Even non-players were interested. It IS the first cool, ...
