First Time I Heard "When I Call Your Name"

I just assumed it was John Hughey playing steel. I had seen him on TNN playing steel when Vince and Patty sang it, so when I played it on my CD why shouldn’t I think it was John. It sounded just like him. Before I continue, let me make it real clear that I am not taking anything away from John Hughe...

They put there pants on one leg at a time just like we do. And when they get inside em, they are just people like you and I. I've never had the pleasure of meeting either of them, but i've met Jones, Hag, Cash, Price and a bunch more and they were all just like neighbors and I expect they would be t...

I think everyone needs to re-read Mike Perlowin's statement about saying something bad...and saying something BAD. Have you noticed Mike doesn't post very often, but when he does he has something to say. Spells alright to. My Daddy always said, keep your words soft and sweet because you never know w...

Wendell, the very guitar you have is the same style guitar Lloyd Green played on many hit songs back in the late 50,s and 60's. I forgot what the D stands for but the LG stands for Lloyd Green. There is a story about how the single neck on a double frame came about. If you want to hear it, e mail me...

I think you're expecting to much of yourself. You must play better than the average bear or you would't still be playing. Just a few people were born with the God given talent and determination to play like Buddy and other greats. And I do know what you're talking about when you say you don't unders...

A Pawn Shop might already have a Blue Book that includes steel guitars.

It's been a few years since i've looked for bargains, but you don't get any steals (pun intended) there anymore. They seem to have a real good idea of what stuff is worth.

The Carter Starter would be more user friendly. Much more easy to keep set up.

But for someone who had a lot of background with a Sho Bud...then that would be the way to go for sure.

I don't recall Charlie using much steel on any of his songs. I'd ask him, how much and how country do you want me to play.

Can't beat being up front and honest.

I also love and enjoy the Forum...If I could just start spending a little less time on it.

I think the little things i've learned on the Forum all add up to be more inportant than the big things.

Thank you b0b for being the layed back calm person that it takes to keep it going.

I have about thrity five songs registered with the Copyright Office. After years of trying to get one recorded, i've come to the conclusion you have to go to Nashville and get a break or get hooked up with an established song writer. I don't need my songs recorded that bad. But if you're a young buc...

Expect it to take at least six months but when you're done you will have learned a lot about the pedal steel and the knee levers.

It was Bill Llewellyn's web site that will show you what Alvin and myself are saying about when a song is copyrighted. Click on FAQ. Click on copyright in general and go down to number four and five. Tony, I said what you folks are doing is registering your song with the Copyright Office which gives you the "date" it was created and "proof" that you own it. Isn't that what you just said? As for when a song is copyrighted...it stated the same thing on the web site Erik posted ...
