Ralph Mooney Question

Post by Nick Reed »

Tonite I was watching an old Austin City Limits video with Waylon Jennings. Moon was playing a black Sho-Bud Super Pro which looked as if the E9th neck was on the back instead of the front. At least I assume the C6th was on the front. Does anyone know if this is the way Moon has his guitars set-up?

The neck closest to him is his unique E9 version, while the front neck is a dobro-like open G tuning.

Nick I know the guy that ended up with Moon's guitar. His name is Danny Weaver from southern Illinois. I don't know if he still has it though. I think Duane Marrs switched it to the top for Danny.

I think I read or heard somewhere, Moon used five pedals on his tuning so he used the back neck.
