Sara, you are an amazing player and an inspiration to me. I’m battling Liver Cancer and just underwent my second surgery. My first response was “fear based†and had decided to liquidate all my equipment. One evening I was sitting in my “studio†(extra bedroom). and started to remember thos...

Steel King Speaker
I recently purchased a Fender Steel King. So easy to set up. I just keep the tone controls between 11:00 and 1:00 o’clock. Tweak the EQ tilt and you’re there. Now, I seriously need to replace the original Fender/Eminence back breaker. I would like some feedback on a replacement speaker. Your exp...

Why
Andy, what brought me to the lap steel was the same reason that brought me to the pedal steel a few years ago and the guitar 45 years ago. I heard the sound and the sound spoke to my soul.....and I had to do "that thing". (Don't know if that made sense to anyone, but it does to me).

Lap Newbie Help
I need some advice. I really want to start playing lap steel. Been playing PSG for a while. Should I get a 6 string or an 8 string. Don't know anything about brands, tunings OR having one built. Price range up to $750.Any advice would be appreciated. I'm anxious to get started.

Newbie
I am total beginner on the lap steel. I’m getting an 8 string model. I was looking at all the different tuning options, so I’m totally confused. I have played the guitar for about 40 years and I am a pedal steel “owner“. What tuning should I start out with? Thanks, Jim

Shoes
Any advice would be appreciated. The diabetic neuropathy in my feet has progressed to the point to where I cannot feel the location of the pedals or if I’m engaging them fully. I’ve tried: wearing 3 pairs of socks (that hurts), tennis’s, dress shoes, deck shoes..............SO, any suggestions...

Thumb pick help needed!!
I just started playing again after an 8 year hiatus. Standard Dunlop "thumbscrews" have cut into my skin and are very painful. I'm hoping that someone on the Forum knows of a type of thumb pick that was not designed by Torquemada. I appreciate any advice. JV
