Yes, I ordered the full georgeboards package and to my dismay it’s all C6 which I’m starting to hate more and more by the day… A6 is what I’m focused on so the videos are relevant if I transpose them but that’s quite inconvenient for someone learning an instrument… I’ve emailed John El...

Please Tips for BIAB

I'm a beginner BIAB user. Even with Ray Price shuffles, when I load something up it just sounds cheezy as hell. Like midi notes on really bad vst's. Can anyone help me get my tracks sounding better?

What's a good spot for E13 tuning lessons???

I have tons of instructional material at this point, but ALL of it is centered around C6/A6. Does anyone know where I can get solid E13 lessons?

A standard 7/8 bar is fine. I very much like a lighter bar for nonpedal because I tend to pick up the bar a lot. 7.5-8 oz is common, I like 6.5oz. Todd Clinesmith made my most recent bar. Black delrin, 6.5oz, 7/8 x 3-3/8. I use it on pedal and non pedal. 3/4 diameter is great on an 8 string. If you...

I ordered a custom black delrin 6.5 oz tone bar. I noticed speedy uses black bars. They're light. Maybe that will help me. I don't wanna fake it.

John Pearse Tone Bar Questiion

He has a “Lap Steel” model and a “Pedal Steel” model that’s slightly bigger, I cannot find any of the lap steel tone bars on the web, and breezy ridge instruments is sold out of them. I’m wandering,,, since I have a T8, should I just get the Pedal Steel Model... maybe the lap steel model...

I don’t think we’re on the same page. I don’t think speedy west used a stutter, it appears he just slams the bar down while turning the tone knob at the same time...

Tips for the Speedy West Jimmy Bryant Tone Knob Hammer On(?)

This is something I first saw done in Buddy Merrill’s performance of “South” on the variety show, but now I see where he got it from… give “Railroadin’” by Speedy West a listen and he does it early on. My god he does it fast. I don’t know how to play that fast how does he not have ca...

I'm sorry but if you can't hear fuzz on "Girl" than you're deaf. Nice! Do YOU hear the quick vibrato and all the string noise? Get yourself an early Fender Deluxe or Stringmaster and a Fender Twin amp. Use the same tuning Santo did, (yes, it makes a difference!) Turn the treble up and wor...

Thank you sir! The Gibson is a real players steel, just look at the scars which I really like. It has history! Here are some back shots. I truly don't know how you even keep track of your collection!! Here are a few more from my small herd. I'm negotiating now for a Silver Hawiian and a B6 (mint) I...

These covers were made for a few dollars of worth of thin vinyl from a fabric store. A friend with a sewing machine is the only other thing you need. The covers keep out the dust but at the same time let you enjoy looking at the guitar Mike https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1712/12359_20190730...

That's exactly the track I'm talking about. Tyler Mahan Coe's podcast, "Cocaine & Rhinestones" about the lives of country musicians and those who brought us the music, is where I heard it was Buck Owens playing "pedal steel". So he got that wrong then. I still want the tab lo...
