A buffer allows your signal to retain its high frequencies. When you run an instrument through cables and pedals you suffer some high frequency loss. Using a buffer electronically matches the impedance of the amp and the instrument so you keep the sparkle over a long run. The Freeloader as I underst...

One of my Covid hobbies is learning about electronics. I bought a breadboard and the parts to try this circuit. Thanks for all of your efforts and input on this. I worked from the schematic and experienced a big volume loss across the range of the pot. I added the jumper across the lugs as in the na...

Right Hand Picking

I'm relatively new to this but moving along. my question is about right hand picking patterns. Right now I'm wondering about the preferred way to pick a major scale. I see many people play it differently. What is the most efficient? Thanks and I hope everybody is in good health and staying positive....

Pedal Steel on KGNU

KGNU FM Boulder has a show called Honky Tonk Heroes. I am not affiliated with the station but do really enjoy their programming. This show had a fair amount of pedal steel. I hope somebody enjoys the link. http://www.afterfm.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/shows.permalink/showID/40/showDate/2019-12-7/showN...

I use a pair of "Barefoot" running shoes. Thin sole and light weight. Mine are Merrill knockoffs. They look like bowling shoes and are Dude Certified. :)

I bought an amp from Canada. Tubes were removed and bubble wrapped. It's OK to wiggle in a circular motion (the tubes) and pull. If they're really resisting, a shot of Deoxit at the base will help.

I discovered that my left hand ring finger sometimes puts pressure downward on the strings behind the bar. This causes a buzz. Technique needed adjustment, not the instrument.

So I just wanted to say thanks for the helpful information and generosity. Eddie from OK sent me a knee lever bracket. I changed it out and now the case closes. I also ordered one from PSG parts so I have a spare just in case.... I'd also like to mention Atlas Case Company in Denver. They cut and fi...

Sho Bud Pro I Case question

I was fortunate to find a 1979 Pro I in great condition. The case however, was mildewy. Could not get the stink out so I tore it down to bare wood, bleached, shellaced and refelted the inside. Now I have a couple of questions. 1-If it sits level in the case, the knee lever keeps it from closing. 2- ...

Have you tried adjusting your pickup height? I'm new to psg but I know electric guitars and pickup height makes a difference in tone. Also check your output jack wiring and grounding.

The last page of the serial number sticky above shows it to be from Dec 1977 but it's a coincidence in terms of the numbers vs date.

BTW what's a dust catcher?

Thanks to all

I'm a new member and just wanted to say thanks for all of the great info I have found on this forum. I'm a life long musician but just got bitten by the psg bug a couple of months ago. Since then, this is where I have learned enough to know (I think) what to look for in my first psg. I was lucky eno...
